AN OPEN LETTER TO MY MUSLIM BROTHERS by harthonder(m): 4:37pm On Dec 23, 2013
======== AN OPEN LETTER TO MY
MUSLIM BROTHERS========
Date: 23/12/2013
(I don't like being left behind. So mek
e no b lyk sey, I no write open letter
too for these days of open letters.
Abeg mek una help me read my own
open letter too o.)
Let me start by greeting you all with
the greeting of Islam, the greeting of
the people of Paradise, the greeting
that has no rival (better than all forms of
greetings
); I say,
ASSALAMA’ALAIKUM
WARAHMATULLAHI
WABARAKAATUHU.
Brothers and sisters in Islam, do you
want to achieve success, true
guidance and solace in this life and
the hereafter? Allah says in (Q8:24),
“O you who have believed, respond
to Allah (by obeying him) and to the
Messenger when he calls you to that
which gives you life. And know that
Allah intervenes between a man and
his heart and that to Him you will be
gathered.)The Prophet (peace be
upon him) said, "I have left with you
two things which if you hold unto,
you will not go astray; the book of
Allah and my Sunnah (tradition).
As Muslims, it is our duty to remind
and enjoin ourselves to what is good
and eschew what is evil. Allah says,
“And remind, for indeed, the
reminder benefits the
believers.” (Q51:55) and “And let
there be [arising] from you a nation
inviting to [all that is] good,
enjoining what is right and
forbidding what is wrong, and those
will be the successful.” (Q3:104)
We must strive daily to move closer
to Allah by obeying Him and
increasing in our acts of worship. To
avoid making my own open letter to
long, below is the summary of the
points I want us to improve on in
order to gain Allah’s mercy, favour
and blessing in this life and hereafter:
1. If you want to be the most
knowledgeable of people, then fear
Allah, you will be the most
knowledgeable.
2. If you want to be the richest
person, then be contented (with what
you have), you will be the richest
person.
3. If you want to be the fairest
person, then love for people what
you love for yourself, you will be the
fairest person.
4. If you want to be the best person,
then be beneficial (useful, render
help) to people, you will be the best
person.
5. If would love to be the most special
person to Allah, then increase your
remembrance of Allah, you will be a
special person to Allah.
6. If you like to be among the
righteous, then worship Allah as if
you see Him and if you can’t see Him,
then He sees you
7. If you like to be among the
obedient ones, then observe
obligatory acts of worship, you will
be among the obedient ones.
8. If you like to meet Allah cleansed
from sins, then (Wash) to Purify
yourself from ritual impurity, you will
meet Allah cleansed from sins.
9. If you love to be raised in light on
the Day of Resurrection, then do not
oppress (maltreat, cheat) anyone,
you will be raised in light in the day
of resurrection.
10. If you would love your Lord to
show you mercy on the Day of
Judgment, then be merciful to souls
and show mercy to His slaves, your
Lord will show you mercy on the Day
of Judgment.
11. If you love your sins to be
reduced, then increase in seeking
forgiveness, your sins will be
reduced.
12. If you love to be the most
honourable person, then do not
complain about any of your affair to
the creature, you will be the most
honourable person.
13. If you love to the powerful
person, then rely on Allah, you will be
the most powerful person.
14. If you’re not an hafeez already,
then try to memorize at least a verse
from the Quran daily; preferably in
the morning after Fajr prayer or
evening before sleeping.
15. Try to observe all your five times
daily prayers in congregation, and
fast voluntarily as much as you can,
especially every Mondays and
Thursdays
16. Stop listening to music.
17. Refrain from sins and lower your
gaze as best as possible.
18. Don't talk too much or listen to
unnecessary talks.
19. Don't keep grudges.
20. Try as much as possible to
observe tahajjud in the midnight no
matter how short.
21. Do azkaar (remembrance of Allah)
while walking, sitting, waiting,
standing, doing nothing.
22. Say what is good or keep quite;
eat well when hungry but don't fill
the stomach.
23. Read the prophetic morning and
evening azkaar; have enough sleep
and preferably drink milk before
sleeping at night.
24. No day should pass you without
learning new things Islamically.
25. Always be focus on your own fault
and try to change for better, instead
of looking at the faults of others.
Finally, Allah says, “…So whoever
would hope for the meeting with his
Lord - let him do righteous work and
not associate in the worship of his
Lord anyone." (Q18:110)
My letter is open for free sharing in
shaa Allah

I quite appreciate your open letter, indeed, is not like other numerous open letters, it has a long reaching effects on the souls of thousands of the readers.
However, there's a mistake in your introduction ''(other form of greeting better than it). Please take note and make necessary correction.
Jazakumu llahu khairan
