The University of Ibadan, Nigeria’s premier university, has offered scholarship to the six candidates that scored 88 per cent and above in its Post-UME test. The vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Isaac Adewole, stated this at a news conference held on Friday in Ibadan to announce the result of the examination which was conducted on Saturday. “The best candidate, Animashaun Oluwakayode Daniel, scored 90 per cent, while five candidates – Ajari Esther, Oteri Efeturi, Ojo Oluwadamilare, Omitoyin Oluwafemi and Aremu Oluwadamilola - scored 88 per cent. The scholarship will cover their accommodation. These are bright candidates so we do not expect them to fail. We want to assure these students that UI will offer them the best facilities that can be found in Nigeria. “ He said that of the 8,844 candidates who registered for the Post-UME test, 6,257 scored 50 and above while 236 did not turn up for the examination. “If a candidate fails to score 50, he or she is not going to be considered for admission. So, 2,351 candidates failed the examination.’’ The vice-chancellor stressed that the university is concerned about the integrity of its Post-UME test. “The male to female ratio is 45 to 55; UI admitted more females than males in recent time.’’ The vice-chancellor urged the Federal Government to introduce strategies that would encourage students to study agriculture. “Government at all levels as well as parents and guardians must encourage students to study agriculture and education courses in the overall interest of the nation,’’ he said. “You see the majority of parents come to say their sons and daughters want to read medicine, law and all that.’’ According to him, hardly do parents say their sons and daughters want to study agriculture or education. Marc9: As far as I'm concerned, UI messed up with watever criteria they used in offering dos 6 scholarships! Who's beta, a candidate dat scored 201 in utme and 60 in post umte, or a candidate with 210 in utme and 51 in post utme?! As far as I'm concerned, UI trivialised Utme by nt taking the score into account, afterall, a lot of candidates wrote CBT jamb whch was 100% fair, as much as PPT whch was also fair dis year, so y was scholarship based on post-utme alone, but nt jamb?! Y didn't they tel us prior dat scholarships wld be awarded to 6 best candidates in post utme?!. I'm gona drag dis stuff with dem on d day of d registration/screening. #seriously vexing over here#seconded!honestly people would av done much better if dis scholarship stuff was made known to everybody.....I would av been much serious with d exam sef,am gona bring up dis issue on clearance day too....smh! |

The first thing is to focus on wahever course ure given(pray for biochemistry or chemistry) nd ve a minimum of 6.0 but seriously speaking you ll need to be relaxed. we ll talk abt the stuff when we're through with exams. help solve dis pls d chemical student in d aux... 1=at 290k a sample of hydrogen gas occupies 125cm cube,wat wil b d volume @ 373k,if d presur remain constant. 2=A given mas of gas ocupies 850cm cube @ 320k and 692.28mmhg,calculate d volume @ s.t.p(T=273k,760mmhg). 3=At wot rate wil a gas X difuse if anoda gas Y difuses @ 1cm cube/s (vapour,density X=321,vapour density Y= 8 4=A given mas of nitrogen @ 120cm cube @ 333k nd 760mmhg,find d presur @ d same temperatur if its volume is change to 240cm cube. 5=A sample of nitrogen ocupies a volume of 1000cm cube @ 300k nd 760mmhg,wot wil b it's volume @ 20mmhg nd 400k. 6=To wot temperatur must a given mass of nitrogen gas @ 273k b heated so d@ both it's volume nd presur wil b doubled. |
