Marc9: Did I state dat 2nd list is for catchment? Young tommy, if u can't construe my quote, den get sm1 dat can to explain it to u. C.O.C is meant to give candidates dat didn't meet their cut-off chances to fill up vacant courses dat wld be advertised wen d C.O.C is out! I never stated dat there wld be specific cut-off for catchment. In 1st batch/merit list, what Jamb (nt UI) does is to choose candidates with d highest score frm each state(nt necessarily dat a catchment cut-off wld be stated, no!).

Before I shutdown, let me point out somthng

For those who trailed their cut-off by 1, it's worth d risk. If u apply for C.O.C, UI wld prefer to throw u in dat vacant course u're changing to since the course is void, and they need candidates to fill it up. Let's take for a example, a guy with 79 for mbbs chickens out and changes to human nutrition, definitely UI wld give him d course, nt mbbs again(even if he was meant to be on 1st or 2nd list thru ctchmnt/ELDS). It wld pain him so much wen he finds out sm1 frm another state with 78 made mbbs list. I mean, a guy just stated in thread no. 266 dat his brother got admitted thru ELDS, another guy stated dat his friend scored 63 and made d 1st list whose cut-off was 65, u call dat luck? magic? Or wat?

Oh well, I wish every1 the best! If I pissed any1 off knowingly or unknowingly, pls accept my sincere appology!

The only point i wanted you to be conversant of is that "UI doesn't / has stopped using catchment areas to admit candidates"...

don't be mislead ooo... there's no catchment list... the cutoff is what determines your admission in a course.

Going by last year, UI released cut off alongside with COC bt this time around, they just released only the cut off ni. Will COC apply dis year.

I rest all to God, even if ah dnt get mech eng, by His grace, I cn go in with physics or maths and then switch over to mech eng with 7.0 cgpa
