Either way you still get to a point which is self sufficiency but then Doing what you love gives you an incredible edge I must confess..

"To do what u Love" is the best, derz no regret for such! It implys that u have a ready made/developed(natural) interest in it..... While on the other hand, "to love what u are doing" is a created interest (its not natural) in what u find urself doing. **My view*

All leads to self sufficiency like Adedayo said. Cos where you find yourself with no choice you gotta love what you doing to excel at dat thing.

But to do what you love is far better. You tend to do better at that.

it's better to do what you love
when you do what you love.. there is this passion or happiness or i really don't know what to call it, that you feel when doing that thing. u give it your best shot without hesitation

but when you love what you are doing. its just like, in the beginning, you are just doing it because you have to or you saying " i will like or love this thing as time goes by" but you don't give your best shot, you easily lose interest in it. well, you may end up loving it later though,

what i think makes the big difference is, there may be some things you ll do for what you love, which you wouldn't do for something you didn't love at first

its just like sacrifices you will make for someone you really loved from the beginning to someone you will make yourself love as time goes by

To me, I would go for 'to love what you are doing'.

Sometimes, what we love might not really be it.

Bukkiminat,

Lemme use this scenario to compare and contrast.

We are in an under-developed country where people cherish LAW, ACCOUNTING and MBBS mostly.

For an example, While growing up, I became in love with LAW not because I'm good at it but I love it.

It'll later dawn on me that LAW isn't what I actually love but another course entirely.

So, doing what I love is flawed.

Second example
I choose LAW as to love what I'm doing.

Trust me, I'll never regret because it's already like a talent to me.

Nice perspective you've got there FrancisTony , we all have to see from a different angle. Like I said, they both lead to one point : self sufficiency.. But then doing what you love gives you an edge..

BTW, stop using those thoughts of what you loved doing as a kid as an example anymore.. It was just a case of brainwashing us by those teachers who ignorantly never thought there were any other professions to tell us about other than those ones.. Sadly, alot of peeps out there are still falling into this trap... Did like to give speeches at secondary schools(public schools especially) someday about this issues.

Do you know people actually get admitted into college to study WINE MARKING abroad?? They call it Oenology and Viticulture .. Now that is what I call specialisation..

It depends on where u find yourself & d benefits attached to it.
Using d Nigerian setting,u gatz love & develop passion for what you do else u'll find yourself losing on both sides, when d opportunity comes for u to do what u REALLY love,go for it...

exactly my thought as well; to one day start enlightening students &even parents on this, infact its bn a topic of discussion in my church recently! When people get aware of this soon enough, then we would clamour for specialization and job avenues from d (federal)government! If it would b a law they would pass or so!! Not that u would be seeing a medical doctor,on the field during nigeria's match instead of a phsyologiest; some1 dat studied Estate Management, working as a cashier in a bank; doctors, lawyers, engineers, business men...etc all in house of assembly, while we have those that studied Political science jobless! ........etc! We really need a change in this Country!

Suffice to say, it has an edge when the person is towing a nice destiny directed to him or her not parent or peer group influence/pressure.

I made that stereotyped example because of the country we are live in it.

In a developed country, no course is over-rated or under-rated.

While watching NAT-GEO wild, I learnt about Americans who studied Enviromental Science, Geography etc and hitting it big but the course is a minor in Nigeria and under-developed countries.

Nigeria tend to judge your academic intelligence by the course you studied..

I made an example of our country being under-developed and our people reasons in an archaiac and stereotyped way.

Well, some people childhood dream still come to reality and blooming after achieving it while some lived in a world of delusion all-while.

Do you know people actually get admitted into college to study WINE MARKING abroad?? They call it Oenology and Viticulture .. Now that is what I call specialisation..

Like I said, those courses is making wave in a developed country.

Trust me, if I study that course in America, I'll make it big if I come back to Nigeria.

Studying MBBS, LAW, ACCOUNTING in a developed country is like err'days course.

May God change our mentality as Nigerians.

Imagine a country where Doctors are revered while Enginneers that's making thier work come into reality is nothing to write home about.(under-rated)

To love what you are doing or To do what you love?

in my own VEIW.

i tink doin wat u love gives u apiness and joy,cos d interest u av in it is natural..... and dat makes u to develop more interest in d tin ,cos u ar not forced to like it.

and dere ar some instance dat u av to love wat u ar doin because dere is no oder option left for u at dat moment dan to love wat u ar doin, even wit d fact dat u ar not derivin any pleasure from it.

For instance.......

a (SS3) student who is abt to write his external exam and does not av d zeal for maths cos his maths teacher is a bully, and dat is makin him to dislike maths already.
and dis fellow needs to sturdy extra hard even to b able to acquire, THE last credit (C6) in his external exam, so in dis case he is suppose to develop som interest in d maths teacher even if he is not goin to derive pleasur frm it,so as to gain wat he needs at dat particular time.
everytin in life does not com on a neutral ground dere ar som cases where d need for sacrifice would rise.... and dat shows up in d aspect of d boy who is to like his maths teacher so dat he wil b able to learn frm him, bfor d exam.

dats d litle i can say abt it.
