Uploading your files onto your domain is very easy to do, you just need a client like fizella or smart ftp.
Having a host that uses cpanel is good becos it gives you more flexbilty.
If you can find the host then integrating your site with paypal ipn will not be a problem because you can go to your oscommerece admin and change your settings , logo design e.t.c
