Less than 24 hours to the New Year, a middle-aged man reportedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at his Gwarimpa residence in Abuja on Tuesday.

Though details of the incident was sketchy at the time of filing this report, Punch reports that the smoke from the man’s apartment attracted neighbours, who on getting to his residence, found his charred remains.

Another report says he did it to protest Nigeria's economic situation.

However, the police have evacuated the corpse to the mortuary of the General Hospital, Kubwa, Abuja.

Nigerians commit suicide if you listen to the news regularly or read crime reports. How Boko Haram got into your analysis is surprising going by the way they'll like casualties rather than a scapegoat as media houses allude to BH operations.
