I was born in the early 80's and I got to watch a lot of sci-fi cartoons.
I remember a particular sci-fi cartoon called Sports Billy. I remember how Billy would communicate with his grand parents whom resides in another planet from his tv and I wished it will come true and it did. Today, we see the reality in skype and google hangout.

In my own opinion, I think Si-fi is not just fiction, but a display of dreams and imaginations that will one day come true.

Necessity is the mother of invention but imagination is the father, that's why I still watch cartoons till this day because not many other things can stir your imagination as such
