Goal: the goal of this post is to let readers know the importance of niche blogging, how it affects personal blogging career and how to leverage it for internet marketing and make steady income building niche blogs.
What is a niche? Niche refers to the topic or a targeted market.
What is a blog? Blog is a content base website where information on tips on a product or service is been distributed regularly for the benefit of the readers.
What is blogging? Blogging is the ark of updating a blog. Simple!

Let talk about Niche Blogging: For instance, if someone is to start a blog the first thing to do is to decide the topic of the blog, that is, what type of information you want to be putting on this blog. He must furthermore find out, who are the targeted audience, how will you reach them and what sort of monetization you want to adopt?

The fact is that ordinary blogging is sub divided into three parts which are;
1. The Personal Blog
2. Branding Blog
3. Blogging for Profit

But Niche blogging is only in one part which is the third one.
Niche blogs are built in order to make money from the blog and they are in many cases mini blogs that gets tones of traffic daily using the power in SEO to drive it.

How to start a niche blog
There are many things you have to consider when starting a niche blog for you to succeed. When building a niche blog the first thing to do is to find a targeted market.
1. Find a targeted market “NICHE”
This is the most crucial part of niche blog. If this aspect is wrongly handled the whole project will be completely dead not even an SEO pro will revive it even if you decide to cheat Google Panda!
You need to decide the market you want to target and how to dominate the market. Niche Market ranges from categories to categories.
Once you are able to decide then you move to the next step.

2. Who your audience are, how many are they and how do you reach them
This aspect is very important; it carries the 70% of the success of the niche site project. You need to be able to know who your targeted audience is, how many are they and how you plan to reach them.
When it comes to niche blogging the only way to know your targeted audience is to do some keyword research on the chosen market; you need to know what people are willing to buy, what they need information about, what they search for on a daily basis that there has not been many information about. Once you are able to know this you are almost done with the whole niche site project: Google Keyword Planner is the best for this type of research.

There are some certain things to put into consideration when doing keyword research which are:

a. The type of the keyword and the volume: you need to note the numbers of people using a certain keyword in your chosen market to look for information. Long tail keywords are the best type of keywords to focus when doing your keyword research, let assume your chosen niche is Sport and your target market is basket ball. When doing your keyword research you need to focus on long tail keywords, long tail keywords are usually keywords like “how to play basket ball” “how to escape fouls in court” “how to make referee my friend” “how do I score from mid court” and so on. Long tail keywords don’t usually have much density and search volume monthly that is why I will advise that to start your niche blog you need to have at least fifty (50) of those kind of keywords.

b. How do you plan to reach them? The question is how do you found out about them at the first place? Through keyword planner, right? Ok, where does keyword planner got to know what people needs and how they are looking for it? Through search engine searches results. Very good. This means to reach your audience you need to connect to them through the same route where they are moving “Search Engine”. This is the best way to connect to your targeted audience when you are running a niche blog. This is where SEO comes in. more on SEO later.

3. How to dominate the targeted market: This area is very important because if you do not plan to dominate the market the project will just be running in vain, you won’t get traffic only if you buy it. When you are doing your keyword research there are some basic things you must have put in place like choosing the right keywords. These is enough for you to lunch your own SEO Panda that hits other competitors away from your front and put you on the first page of search engine.. Don’t think it’s easy just like that ooo. It’s not hard to do either, all you need to do is a little SEO that will not break your neck and watch your site rank in Google first page in less than a month. There are two ways you can do your niche site SEO

a. Do it yourself: you can do it by yourself if you know how to optimize a website for search engine traffic domination. Please don’t even tamper with your niche site if you don’t have any SEO experience once Google panda catches you your project might be gone forever. If you don’t have any SEO experience I recommend that you learn it and practice it. Believe me … SEO is fun!

b. Hire a VA: since it is a niche site and your goal is to build as many niche sites as you can in order to make more money, all I will advise is give the whole SEO job out to an SEO professional, you can find many of them willing to work for you at an affordable price on any sourcing site like freelancer, gurus, elance and fevrr. Give them solid instructions and tell them what result you are expecting within a period of time. They will do a good job for you.

4. Where to get unique and informative content to serve them: I am happy to inform you that if you do SEO and your niche site gets ranked in search engine but with no unique content forget about having returning readers! See when people can read your content, bookmark the page and return anytime they want it is then that you will begin to have unstoppable success on your niche site. There are two ways to go about getting a unique contents which are:

a. Write it yourself: if you think you can write something quality about your targeted market then you should go ahead and start writing article base on the long tail keywords you gathered and after writing post on your niche site that is all.

b. Hire a VA to write it for you: how many articles will you have time to write if you are to be launching two niche websites every month? Any answer? The best way to get loads of unique contents is to hire someone to write it for you. There are lots of good writers that will write SEO optimized and copyscape passed content for you at a ridiculous price in sourcing websites like freelancer, elance and fevrr. 5. What sort of monetization method you want to adopt: having done with the niche market selection, keyword research, website optimization and article writing you need to decide what sort of monetization method you want to adopt. Before you decide on what method to adopt you may need to check how your competitors are monetizing their niche site. There must be people in the same niche with you before you enter and they are doing well. You need to search in search engine with your keywords to know your competitors and how they are monetizing their site. Nevertheless, There are three ways to monetize a niche website, they are:

a. Promoting Affiliate offers: This is the most common method of monetizing a niche website and it is the most reliable and consistent. Most niche bloggers monetize their blogs using Amazon Affiliate programe, you can check it out on amazon.com to learn more about their affiliate program. There are other sites like that, that accept Nigerians to promote their affiliate programs but the one I recommend it Amazon.

b. Promoting CPA offers: CPA means cost per action. This method of monetization too is very good for a niche blog, you can earn up to $1 to $40 per convert, most CPA offer don’t require people to buy anything they only ask for email submission, zip code submission and some other things like joining a dating site and so on. CPA is very good and there are lots of CPA networks that accept Nigerian.

c. Promoting CPC Offers: CPC means cost per click. This type of offer is good and converts fast as people don’t need to buy or submit anything but when they click on any ads you place on you niche websites you get paid. The best network doing good in this area is Google. There are other networks, you can search for them in search engine. If you are promoting Google CPC offers on your niche website you need to be very careful so they won’t give your account and untimely death! If you are getting too much of traffic on a site that is less than 3 months old Google can block your Adsence account thinking it is not natural. This should be the last resort when creating a niche blog.

6. What you will do to the blog after six months: you need to ask yourself before you start this niche blog; what will I do to this blog after six month? Simple question hun? Once you know what you want to do with this blog after six month you will be able to know how hard you will have to work to keep it alive. You can choose to sell it off after six months. If this is what you want to do it is very good, the idea is that, you build a niche blog, make some money with it and after six months you sell it off. The amount you made on your niche blog will determine how well you sell it off, you can sell your niche blog for as low as $1000 and that is if you don’t make money with it despite doing all the aforementioned things. A niche blog can go for as high as 10k USD if you are making at least 300 USD from it every month which is a realistic goal of a niche blog. A well set up niche blog target every month should be at least 500 USD. You may not get to 500 USD in the first 2 months but by the third month you should get there if you watch very well. You can choose to go to a site like flippa.com to sell your niche site after six months or less and create more niche sites.

NICHE BLOG MAINTENANCE
After creating your niche blogs you need to continue maintaining it on a daily basis. Below are some basic maintenance of a niche blog:
a. Put more contents every week: you may go to step 4 to see how to get plenty of unique content without having to write anything yourself. Remember to always find a writer with ON PAGE SEO experience to write your contents.

b. Build more back links: Back links is part of what you will do when doing your niche site SEO. As a matter of fact, it is the back bone of a niche website. Make sure you don’t give the job to any how V.A. give it a VA with niche site optimization experience.

c. Update your website security regularly: Normally, niche sites are built using CMS like wordpress and joomla. If you are using any of these CMS you don’t need to know any coding or programming to build your niche site but you must update the software regularly. You can find the update option on your dashboard when you log in.
More ways to get traffic to your niche site

Article marketing
I cannot say many things about article marketing here I will only brief it. Article marketing it when someone writes an article and submit to article directories with back links to your niche site. You need to write some unique articles, you can spin from the ones you have and submit to article directories. Doing this, you will get traffics and back links to your site and this will help your search engine ranking.
Note: learn about article spinning and you will not have to be writing articles each time you want to submit articles to article directories. Don’t submit junks if you want result!

Do guest post
You can choose to write guest post for any other site in your niche market and get backlinks to your site. You may not use spun content for this type, you have to get fresh content.
