***OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY REOPENS*** The Governing Council of Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye has ordered the immediate reopening of the university. Lectures are to start on Monday, September, 29, 2014 to continue the suspended 2013/2014 academic session. The university was closed by the management to for stall breakdown of public peace as a result of students’ negative reaction to the announcements by the state Government reducing the university fees. It would be recalled that in 2008, the Students Union Government signed an agreement with the then State Government to increase fees by 20 percent annually. However, in response to recent students’ demand for a downward review by 40 percent of the current fees, the State Government reduced the fees by about 40 percent and, in some cases, down to 60 percent as well as abolished the dichotomy between indigenes and non-indigenes. This new arrangement was to start in the 2014/2015 session since there was no budgetary provision for the short fall in the current year’s financial appropriation. However, students demanded lower fees and its immediate implementation. This reopening follows an agreement between the University Management and the Student Union Government accepting the new fees and the commencement date of 2014/2015 session. All returning students are expected to sign an undertaking to be of good behavior while an investigating panel shall be set up to look at the immediate and remote causes of the disturbances and suggest ways of preventing such in the future. It may also recommend appropriate sanctions for anyone that might have violated his matriculation oath. All returning students are to check the university website for details of fees payment guidelines for the session. SGD Niyi Oduwole Head, Corporate Affairs Division, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. Date Issued: 28th September, 2014 |

So on his first day at school, the first class was English Language. The teacher called on Akpos and asked him:- Teacher: Akpos, make a Sentence with “Big” Akpors: The Ram Is Big Teacher: Make it longer Akpos: The Ram is big ooooooo Teacher was like , “WHAAAAAT!!!!”. The Teacher recovered and continued with his questions: - Teacher: Behind every successful man there is a woman. What do we learn from this? Akpors: We should stop wasting time in studies and find that WOMAN Teacher: Get out of my Class, Akpos Akpos bounced out of the class, not sure what to do. Somehow, he made his way to the library. Once inside, he spotted a very pretty girl reading quietly. He quickly approached her and started wooing her right in the library. Oh Akpos! After some minutes, the girl got angry and shouted, “Will you please leave me alone so that I can concentrate? Everybody turned and looked at Akpos. So what did Akpos do? Akpos gazed her intently and replied in a loud voice: “I will not leave you alone until you accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour!” 1 Like |
