Let us support our SUG to achieve. We should stop
putting them under pressure.
At several meetings attended by SUG, the issue of
students on Leave of Absence(LOA) had always been
mentioned requesting that they should be reinstated
unconditionally.
i am constrained to post this for the following reasons:
- in the Nations of today, 18th September, 2014 the
number of students on LOA was 3000 while SUG said
2000. Even with 2000, SUG was requested to bring
forward the names and matric numbers of the affected
students cos the University claimed that it didnt have
such records. SUG did not have such list. they just
assumed the figure from what they heard from us.
- Pls, i stand to be corrected, we have students on LOA
but not in the figure of 2000.
Mgt said LOA is not a death sentence on the affected
students but necessary to be able to track students
wherever they maybe at any particular point in time. it
explained that not only student who are unable to pay
request for LOA. those students that for one reason or
the other could not stay in school also apply for it.
Example is a student on a sick bed.
- LOA enables the varsity to track u and mgt said many
students on LOA had just been reinstated by senate
recently.
i also have the following information sequel to the above
-that at some periods in the varsity there were no
accurate records of students' population. All sorts of evil
doings in the country were being linked OOU.
-in a bid to know who was who, more than 8,000
students were regularised by JAMB thru the University
efforts. Regularisation stopped last week after two years
of shifting deadline front and back.
- that last year, we students protested about registration
and reinstatement after which govt granted amnesty to
students to regularise and complete registration
formalities. Some students refused to enjoy the window
of opportunity. these are the people, in my own opinion
are saying are on leave of absence. for God sake, how
can u be on LOA if u are not a student?
-Let us give correct information to our SUG, so that they
wont be ridiculed. If u are a student on LOA, confront the
SUG with your letter of approval for the leave to equip
them as appropriate. if u need them to bring you back
illegally, you may not get that through this struggle cos
SUG discusses issue based on superior argument. Some
of them had enrolled at NOUN, Awa but wanted to
distrupt the peace in OOU. Someone told me that" i am
not ready for resumption ooo" even if the crisis is
resolved. can u see!
- i expect the affected people cos i wont call them to
post all sorts of msg but the truth shall prevail
OOuites beware, our futures, destinies lie in our own
hands. Let rescue them NOW!!

85% of those that wrote OOU PUTME got d chance of being admitted but not necessarily their choice of course. However, if 2014/15 set are to be merge with the present 100level, then d chance will have to reduced to like 50% due to the population surge it would cause....

and when will the decision of merging or not be announced. Is it that OOU is not time conscious or they don't care?

2009...I put in for medicine...but d set was merged with d 08 set...d result was DAT...if normally dey do admit like 60 for medicine...dey will now admit like 10 to 30 and most of which has long legs tho....so, jambittes start praying cos dis struggle is now getting to you too...
