I just formatted my system and i do not have the configuration settings for the Merlin PC727 EVDO Rev A USB Modem purchased for my Visafone Internet, So if anyone can give me a set by step means of setting it up that would be great, if not then its off to the LONG Queues at the Visafone office,

Just intall you visafone software.Password is your number, usename your number and the thir I think is service number is 777 or #777 and you are done

If you are in Lagos or Abuja, then Visafone matches Starcomms but if in the south east of Nigeria, I would advise you stick to Starcomms as Visafone are very slow in updating the infrastructure that they took over from other companies. Most of this companies get their Bandwidth from almost the same source but what determine how good they are is the amount of user they have on the platform. Starcomms is popular and as such has many users. So make your decision or try someones visafone out around where you live.
Also Visafone customer service don't have any knowledge of resolving problems when you call them on fone and that can be very frustrating.All they do is tell you they will get back to you in which they hardly do. I have visafone but I have lost nearly a month of my subscription due to domain issues.I had to pay for reltel that same month to be able to get to my business

the good thing abt starcoms in kaduna is the stable network,hardly goes off,but downloadwise its crap

hey DC,ever used starcomms in kaduna?well let me tell u;the best u'll get is 8kbps, for those leaving in kaduna EVDO and IZAP is non existent,u'll have to manage with 1x which is crap

i count my download time in seconds with MTN 3.5G.  1 MB file took me just about 2sec to download. it can be better. in my house at mgbuoba, i get one bar strength on my phone which i use as a modem, yet my download speed is above, always, 100kb/s.

@lynxnoon. If you hit your 3GB cap you simply renew, and start afresh you don't wait till next month. I still have my Starcomms for unlimited downloads. I'm just testing MTN 3.5G.

@inze as at the last time i visited the mtn- connect office, 3.5G modem was sold for N5500.
Its very fast and eats your byte fast. I since abandoned it. I just bought visafone evdo
and using the unlimited plan. I must confess am enjoying my money. Infact I got the modem for
free because I was given 200 hours unlimited browsing for two months. I highly recommend it

Starcomms is GARBAGE from my experience.
