Okocha Again! Our Humble Nigeria Captain Augustine "Jay-Jay" Okocha gave us his reason [let us not say 'excuse'] for not coming to Oran, Algeria for the world cup qualifier as "being injured"

However, this "INJURY" appears not to have stopped him playing for Bolton yesterday... tongue

Who's fooling who?? angry

Okocha was actually injured but the injury was not that serious and he couldn't have played with it.

Why fielding a half fit player when you have fresh blood that can fight for balls at every minute?

Okocha is loved at Reebok stadium hence the slogan "he's so good that they call him twice Jay-Jay.

Here is a recap of the club match in question, from Thisday:
"Super Eagles skipper Jay Jay Okocha, who skipped Nigeria’s crunch World Cup tie with Algeria, was substituted yesterday as Bolton played a goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers at the Reebok.
Okocha, who missed the Oran game due to injury, was removed in the 78th minute after failing to stamp his authority on the match

No doubt the guy was not in top shape: It was reported all over including international sport newspapers that same week and it was also said that he would be alright in a week or two.

So, my brother, we have to give it to the guy. The boy is good but as good as he his, we still can afford to trash the next guy like 5 goal to 2 so what is wrong here? nothing!

Stay strong brother, all is well.

You'd be suprised..  tongue

Anyways, if he's tired of playing for the senior national team, he should just come out and say so, instead of this charade...

I can give you one guess, who'll be the first one to come out and claim his jersey if the eagles eventually qualify...

Our dear Capitano....

ok.. maybe I should have said 'a' jersey instead of 'his' jersey.. grin

Do we really need anyone to "play like Okocha".. we have talented and skillful players in their own right... we don't really need any player to play like Okocha.. we need players who are willing to do what is required to win the match.. when called upon by their country..

We have been winning matches long before Okocha came onto the scene, and we will continue to do so after he retires... tongue

This should impress the starter of the topic, I think. Jay Jay has beg to be excused from playing for his team so that he can be in top shape to play for Nigeria against Zimbabwe. See, the guy can be patriotic grin
