Where can graduates of mathematical sciences (Mathematicians, Statisticians and Operations Research Analysts) work in nigeria?

they are hot cake in the market now .people / student's interest are now ruddered away from the science inclined professions, this makes their population getting smaller. a graduate at mathematics / statistics is sure - bet to work as a lecturer of mathematics in the university. mathematics lecturers are getting older nobody to replace them (or did graduated through a crude mean?) .
u could equally learn a bit of computer appreciation prefarably at diploma level or post graduate or as the case may be and become a computer technolgist, or u could sit for professional wireless network examination like CCNA , CCNP ,CCNE ,CWNA e.t.c. and u become useful for yourself. Surprisingly, u could be employ in any of the big time telecommunication company.
cheers.

In your own opinion, will you encourage people to go into reading any of the mathematical sciences? Because right now in nigeria people believe in courses like accounting, biz admin , economics, engineering, architecture etc. Why is it that the patronage for mathematics is very low? I believe nigerian firms dont really need mathematical scientists. What would these firms and companies be doing with mathematical scientists anyway?

Brodas n Sistas, Mathemathics is not lucrative in Nigeria. Imagine the kind of frustration one experiences b4 graduating , U are out with weak grade as if u are not sharp and as if that is not enough , no job 4 u out there. Do not give up anyway. God is in His throne. PEACE OUT. Try and get some certifications.

The problem is that even government itself does not know the relevance of mathematics and statistics in nigeria.Private companies and individuals too care less about mathematics in nigeria. People just do things in their own way in nigeria whether good or bad e no concern dem. Manufacturers will manufacture sub-standard products and sell dem to consumers and nothing will happen. This products would ve been of standard if mathematicians and statisticians were employed to handle the process/product control aspects of production which involves using a lot of mathematical/statistical techniques. Government sef no dey even use figures to plan, thats why the distribution of money to states and local govts is uneven and unbalanced. But check out oyibo people, if you be mathematician or statistician or operations research analyst you be hotcake.
