After activating the super user on my phone (jiayu s3), I checked with root checker but it says root not properly installed on this device. pls what's the way forward and can kingroot also root this device?

It depends on how many modules u accumulate, but all the same, it shouldnt take up to that size....

There is a new update for s3 3gb which I have been trying to download since yesterday but not successful. I have used a very strong 4g network and mobile data bit not going tru. Anyone with same story? See the screenshot.
