Super Eagles coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has resigned his appointment after leading the team to the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking after the Eagles were eliminated
by France in the round of 16 match in Brasilia, Monday, the Delta State-born tactician said it was time to move on after leading his country’s national team to the Africa Nations Cup trophy last year and the ongoing World Cup in Brazil.
“I have to go back to my family and face
fresh challenges,” Keshi said.
Similarly, Super Eagles Captain, Yobo
Joseph said he has had enough and can go
no further as national team player. “I think I should give the younger ones the opportunity to forge ahead. I have nothing new to offer.”

For you Yobo , we don resign U̶̲̥̅̊ before U̶̲̥̅̊ resign
urself...One useless error just dent all the great
performances of urs for Nigeria .
What a disgraceful way to bow out man.

If you think the #Super_Eagles messed up by not
winning France, then you must be mistaking.
Before you start castigating The Super Eagles,
and start talking how abysmal they performed,
how slow Mikel was, before you start calling
them super chickens.
I must remind you that the super eagles of my
dear Nigeria played well in this tournament, They
grew from strength to strength. They were better
in each game they played.
I must also remind you that the super eagles of
Nigeria were better than the former champions,
Spain. Yes, so if you think we did bad then what
should the Spanish do?
We so much love the English Premier League,
and hate our local league because its not
interesting.... but may i remind you that the
Three Lions of England got eaten by the other
three Nations in their group, each country eaten
one. They owned the best league in the world
and yet lost out in the group stage.... one reason
why Nigeria didn't do bad.
May I also remind you that the the current world
best footballer on planet earth didn't see what it
feels like playing one more game in
#worldcup2014 , because he also lost out at the
group stage! - one reason why super eagles did
not do so bad.
Oh should I also remind you of the Italians?
Portugal?
So if your head hurts from all the shout, tension,
disappointments etc etc. Please I would urge you
to take a chill pill and relax.
There is no need for anybody to start ranting like
an unchilled zobo now.
This is football, some times you win, some times
you lose. But what really matters is the ability of
the team to stay together and fight for a greater
success next time. Our boys cannot do that if we
Nigerians fail to boost their morals, if we fail to
stand by their side in times like this.
Yobo did great in defence, let not his single
unavoidable mistake spoil his good outing in
Brazil.
Watch out for Omerou.... he is the next big thing
to happen to Nigeria's football.
Osaze - kudos bro.
Oshaniwa.... guy you are the best left back so far
in the game.
As i am typing this message, at this juncture, I
am standing up for the best goal keeper in Brazil
world cup 2014 - Vincent "Save" Enyeama....
brother, you are the best in the world.
Our boys did great, I am proud of them, I am
proud of my National team, I am proud to be a
TANite, I am proud to be a Nigerian.
The Eagles soar so high, the eagles flew, the
eagles are back to their golden nest.... I
Welcome you, Welcome home Super Eagles of
Nigeria.
