Sadly making fun of people is often viewed as
a way of "just having fun" or " to lighten the
mood". While this may appear as fun to those
who make fun of others, it is not so to the
person being made fun of as it often leave
psychological damages on the person even
though he or She may laugh about it to hide
the shame and anger as a result of the funny
remarks.
Although no solution is 100 percent guaranted
here are few things you can do to make
people stop making fun of you.

1.) HOW PEOPLE WHO MAKE FUN OF OTHERS
THINK

Most of those who make jest of others believe
they are better than that person in certain
ways and thus often feel compelled to control
others or gain control over others inorder to
feel better about themselves. Their
perspective is that their way of doing things is
the perfect way and anybody who does or act
otherwise is awkward and should be laughed
at.

2.) SIMPLY IGNORE THEM

Those who make fun of others are attention
seekers who engage in this disgusting act just
to feel seen and be the center of attraction.
However ignoring these kinds of people by
maintaining a tall, proud confident body
language which says "Your opinion doesnt
matter", "have you checked yourself in the
mirror lately" will render them powerless.
Because the more your body language shows
how much you feel sorry for yourself, the
more the torment increases. Also when
disregarding people who make fun of you,
make sure not to keep eye contact and if
possible keep walking away from that scene.
This would show how unimportant their
remarks and statements are.

3.) DO NOT TALK BACK

It is important to not talk back at them as
this may lead to arguments with you being
emotional and them getting more persistent
and forceful which would get out of hand
thus leading to violence. Especially if the
person intimidates you. Furthermore it is
certain that everybody at one point or the
other will experience verbal abuses be it mild
or intense, the key is not to take them
seriously as this is precisely what they want.

4.) BE CONFIDENT

Be confident, as those who make jest of
others often target individuals who appear
weak and are loners. When you speak, be as
clear as possible and also be assertive and
never act shy. Because if you are seen as
confident then chances of being made fun of
is very low as you will be seen by those who
make fun of people as a threat who may give
back as good as he of she gets.

5.) NEVER FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF

Be careful not to feel sorry for yourself
whenever you are being made fun of,
especially if it is something that bothers you a
lot like something that can hardly be changed
or is impossible to change, for instance
disabilty, obesity, e.t.c. Do not make it
obvious that you are bothered about it else
the jest would increase which may lead to
feeling of depression all the time.
Ignoring being made fun of is not enough
attimes as no matter how much you try to
avoid it, some remarks both innocent and
harsh might leave negative psychological
damages. It is advisable to confide in those
who you can trust about your problems and
also have positive impact on you.
