Keshi Offered N168m Two-year Deal by seydam21(m): 9:04am On Jul 03, 2014
The Eagle Online reliably gathered that the plan to offer Keshi an improved deal came amid
confusion over the status of his employment with the Nigeria Football Federation

Outgone Super Eagles’ boss, Stephen Keshi, has been offered N168 million for a new two-year deal to remain at his post.
The contract ups to N7 million Keshi’s monthly salary.
He was being paid, until the ouster of the Super Eagles from the World Cup and an end to his contract, a monthly salary of N5 million.
The loss in the Round of 16 match to the Les Blues of France marked the end of the contract.
The Eagle Online reliably gathered that the plan to offer Keshi an improved deal came amid confusion over the status of his employment with the Nigeria Football Federation.
The Big Boss, who is yet to append his signature to the new deal, was said to have complained about the clauses contained in the new contract papers.
It was also learnt that the Nigeria Football Federation has put in place plans to hire a foreign coach to be assisted by a local coach should Keshi reject the new offer.
On the contrary, the AFCON 2013 winning coach told The Eagle Online that he would insist that the football house provides him with an official accommodation and a car to function.
Keshi told The Eagle Online: “My contract effectively ended with the Super Eagles ouster from the World Cup.
“So, there is no reason resigning from the job.
“However, we are yet to agree a new contract.
“So I remain a free agent until otherwise.”

Which one are we to believe now.. Is he staying or not?
Anyways i guess it's time 4 a change, Keshi has done his bit and we are grateful 4 all that.. But it seems he has huge ego problems that affects his decisions on team matters.. That is unaceptable..

His Contract with the NFF had a clause that said he must reach the Semi-Finals as a benchmark or else, TERMINATION!

He didnt, so that means he is out of a Job contractually.. #Geddit?

Now the NFF are making him an offer according to the article and thats what we are waiting to see if he will accept or not.

He's got a raft of decisions to make. If at all he would leave, I don't want him in South Africa.
Re: Keshi Offered N168m Two-year Deal by Lordabas: 9:36am On Jul 03, 2014
Keshi played his mind games well and he got what he wanted. Better luck to him.
But 168million? shocked That's approximately $1million and its pretty small in modern football terms.

Oliseh should replace Amokachi..

Oliseh and Garba Lawal/Mutiu should replace Amokachi

They need to expand the back room staff, scouting programme, video analyst etc

But Keshi should admit that he made mistakes in this world cup and stop playing God.

We took the following midfielders to Nations cup: Mikel Obi, Onazi, Igiebor, Ogude, Sunday Mba, Gabriel Rueben, Obiora Nwankwo

We took the following to Brazil: Mikel, Onazi, Gabriel Rueben, Azeez, Michael Babatunde, Michael Uchebo

Now there is something fundamentally wrong with the midfield we took to Brazil and we lost the match to France in the midfield. This is a mistake Keshi should admit and learn from. fact is the AFCON squad would not have lost to France because there would be credible replacement for Onazi or Mikel!

I believe that the expience in Brazil will make Keshi a better coach, but he needs to calm down, swallow the humble pie and work for the greater good of the National team football.

I admire his willingness to give youths a chance and his focus on local league. But he did not get his personnel selection right and he needs to accept responsibility for the wrong decisions he made and then promise to improve

Cos Nigeria and SA are in same AFCON Qualifying group. Keshi being fresh from d Super Eagles obviously knows d team's strength and weakness.

now this is what I call constructive criticism and not the usual bashing, truly am still wondering the miracle that happened with the exclusion of igiebor who would have been a perfect replacement for onazi, this is my only grouse with keshi, apart from this am okay with keshi and all he has done for my beloved country.

Truth be told, we went to the world cup without backups for onazi and mikel which was the reason we lost to france period

And u think d new coach would not come wit his style of play? Even if he knows d Eagles strength and weaknesses, dat isn't a guarantee dat he can best d Eagles team with the South African team. There is nothing special about d South Africans. Moreover Klinsmann and Loew of Germany were both on the German bench as Coach and assistant respectively at the last world cup and faced off as opposing coaches in dis one. D beta team won.

Too much u say? That is just $1 million for 2 yeas, which means $500,000 anually. Fabio capello, coach of Russia earns $11 million dollars annually and they didn't even make it to the second round.

Roy hodgson, england coach earns $5.8 annually and they still still crashed out in the first round.

Prandelli, coach of italy earns $4.3 million annually and they didn't make it to the second round.

Vincente del bosque of Spain earns $3.4 million annually they crashed in the first round.

Alberto Zaccheroni, coach of Japan earns $2.7 mlion annually and they crashed in the first round.

The list goes on, how is keshi earning $500,000 annually too much. Nigerians want magic but to support their team they won't, always looking for someone to blame. If they don't blame keshi, they will blame yobo, if not yobo they will blame Mikel. Can't we just accept we lost to a better team? England has moved on, Spain has moved on. Algeria gave their players a heroic welcome, Obama congratulated USA squad upon crashing in the second round. Algeria, USA, spain all have a better team than us, but we expect magic from the mediocre team we have. Instead of accepting defeat and moving forward we look for someone to blame. Now keshi has resigned, osaze resigned, even enyeama looks like he's also going to resign. This is because we never appreciate our player, we always looking for someone to blame
