People of different ages can pass and receive information through the internet. Many people can fall victim to unethical or bad mannered online behaviour, Particularly, kids mostly teenagers are more likely to be exposed on the internet and should be educated on some basic safety tips. Enable to teach your children the following tips when they are visiting the online world: Private details: children should not share their private details when they are online. Any Private information such as phone number, home address and even real names. should not be shared. Also remind your kids that if someone unknown asks you for private details, it does not necessary mean that it should be shared. Profile Name: Tutor your kids that they should create profile names that do not review their private information. Leaving out their last name and birth date is very important and will make it hard for anyone to figure out who they are. Passwords: Your children should be able to keep all of their passwords safe and secure. Also, they should in no account review them to anyone including close friends or siblings except their parents. It is also advisable to remind your children to log out of all websites and clear the cookies after using a public computer since most website saves important information like password in the system's cookie . Online buddies: Children may come across different people while surfing the web. If this happens, your kids should in no account agree to meet anyone in person without consulting from you the parent. On the course of browsing the web, many people pretend to be who they aren't. Always remember most things on the internet aren't true. Pictures: To keep your children safe, always make sure they never post any picture or video without your consent . Information like this may allow a predator to know their true identity and their locations. Online Advertisements (ads): There are loads of ads on the internet. Some of them claim that you have won thousands of dollars, Video games, or some other type of prize. Inform your children that they should stay away from these ads and also not purchase anything without your Consent. Many of those ads are scams and will tell you that you won something while trying to gain access to private information in order to claim and steal the prize. Downloads: Train your kids to know the kinds of content to download. They must be at the right age to view or download sexual related contents. Also,they may be viruses in some Files. In addition, some files may Contain inappropriate information. Online Research: If your child is researching online, enable to help them look for child-friendly websites that contain proper information. Ask a teacher or any public computer attendant if you need help finding appropriate websites. Online Bullies: while online, kids find it very easy to utter words which they can't really utter in person. This often get kids to trouble especially when they are making rude or insulting comments. Always talk with your kids about bullying others online and remind them to inform you if they are being bullied by others or if they get any message that makes them uncomfortable. Social Network: They are thousands of websites where people share and read opinions of others most of this website have age restrictions. The restrictions were put in place to keep the young ones protected. Enable to talk with your children about being safe and responsible in these online communities if they attain the right age to be part of them, the online world is full with great and useful information, but that doesn't necessary mean they shouldn't protect their self against others . Always remind your kids to surf the internet safely. Though the internet is filled with great information that still doesn't make it a safe place.
