Looking at his achievements.
1. Coached and qualified Togo for the world cup
2. Coached Mali and masterminded a famous comeback of four goals against the host country during the 2010 nations cup.
3. Coached Nigeria and after just one year, his team lifted the nations cup (first time in 19 years) despite going with 19 debutants becoming only the second African to ever win the trophy as a manager and as a coach.
4. Qualified Nigeria for the CHAN tournament (first time in our history), put up a decent performance including another famous comeback (3 or 4 goals, can't remember) against Morocco and 'unlucky' lost to Ghana the semi finals. Finishing third.
5. Qualified Nigeria for the world cup with relative ease (compared to our previous scenarios).
6. Gave us our first world cup match win in 15 years.
7. Became the first ever African coach to get to the knock-out stages of the world cup.
9. Lost to France controversially in a game the french should have had a player sent off (also, the disallowed goal by Emenike)
10. He aso discovered new players for our national team like Oboabona, Omeruo, Mba, Onazi, Uzoenyi etc.
Any more?
So I wonder if all these achievements were truly achieved by luck.

if lucky is seen as hardwork meet opportunity, then he is. But know you must first prepare and then pray for the opportunity!
lucky isn't by day dream but by serious work crowned with God's blessing

No the guy is lucky.

He achieved an easy group and still didn't approach the world cup well at all.
