hello, guys...am finding it really hard to use the SPSS for my result analysis..especially the student's paired t-test....i donno if someone can help me with dat..apart from dat, inserting the error bar for each variable is quite hard for me i.e. using the microsoft excel sheet....i ll b so happy if some one can help me cos i dont want to submit rubbish to my oga tomoro...tanks alot...

You need to know what your analysis is all about. First, is data probabilistic or non probabilistic? Is it normally distributed or not. How do you code your variables? Well, t-test is used to compare the values of means from two related samples, for example in a 'before and after' scenario.
The difference between the means of the samples is unlikely to be equal to zero (due to sampling variation) and the hypothesis test is designed to answer the question "Is the observed difference sufficiently large enough to indicate that the alternative hypothesis is true?". The answer comes in the form of a probability - the p-value.

@temigrace...... It depend on what analysis you are intending to use it for.... I suggest you to log to Youtube and search for 'SPSS tutorial' there. I'm of great hope that you will get a clue there....

Have you been able to sort out the SPSS request? You can try out some textbooks for further studies. It's knowledge/application should not be limited to your school project.
