The Doc are important, hell yeah! So is the mechanic that fix the ambulance. So is d teacher that taught the Doc from crech to uni. So is d carpenter that makes his furniture and the nanny that takes care of his baby. I find it very callous when Doc go on strike though I know d govt are not helping matters. I think its against the ethics of their profession and the oath they swore...well that's just my opinion. Let's pray many people don't end up I'm d mortuary before the govt meet their demands.

Am very sure the so called lab technician, can tell what result is positive for any ailment and a pharmacist can tell u what drug and what dosage u need to get cured....Every consultant just gives u a list of (lab technician's) test that decides which of the (pharmacist's) drugs to use..It make one wonder what they can really do without test and drugs..

They should start fresh recruitment to fill these vacancies with good but strict condition of service. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. It might take a long time to fill those vacancies but at the end those vacancies will be filled. Being a medical doctor does not make you a good administrator. All our health institutions are been headed by medical doctors and most are in shambles. These people must be humbled else they will hold this nation to ransom. People lifes have been lost due this strike, can they bring those lifes back after the strike is called off. Terminate them and let see if some will not shift ground and begged to be recalled. LAGOS STATE under once tried it but it was resolved amicably. This time let it be total.

Maybe NMA are looking for avenue to create rest for themselves, due to d nature of their work, hence strike!

Really? Beautiful suggestion, as long as it also applies to any group that dares to strike: petrol tankers, ASUU, ASUP, teachers, NLC, JOHESU etc. But this again is the beauty of democracy. IT CAN'T HAPPEN.

While Doctors and University teachers proceed on lengthy strike action yearly to claim rights in response to the lavish allowances of the Political class, other institutions of labour need to rise up in one accord to fight this course to the finish. Many Doctors dont believe in God they only pretend they do. As a matter of fact they worship science. The death of patient does not move doctors. They only ensure that they save their patients lives because its their obligations to do so as it is also good for their work ethics..yes doctors are mini gods and the most ambitious ones sees humans as Guinea pigs...all the same I appreciate doctors a lot. I hold them high esteem..government should invest more in them so that citizen would stop going to India for treatment, to have their kidneys stolen..most naija private specialist doctors are strong b

Seriously, we can do better as a nation not just towards doctors but everyone. I am very certain and confident that we can easily implement a 50,000 minimum wage in Nigeria. It is not exceptional or impossible.
I guess that is why most of these doctors are travelling to the US and UK where they know the value of their profession.

Yes we erred as a nation when we diefied some particular professions to the disdain of others but forget that no one profession is insignificant.

As much as i appreciate the efforts put into studies in medical school, i opine that administration should be left for trained administrators and management experts while those vested with the responsibilty of healthcare delivery should concentrate on that and in advancing their expertise.
