Students of the Ekiti State University are currently organizing a peaceful protest over the unnecessary 22% increase in the GST fee for the second semester of the 2013/2014 session. Pictures aren't allowed but I'd try to give updates and as at when due.

The protest began at the Faculty of Science with the Student Union President, Ibitola Babatope aka SUGARITO advising the students to be of peaceful conduct while firmly asserting their right. The protesting students then marched to the 4-in-1 LT to mobilize other students who were unaware and the reception was massive.
From their they proceeded to the GST office and the GST coordinator advised them to proceed to the Admin Block to meet with the V.C as the decision to increase or decrease the fees lies with and is the responsibility of the Senate.
As at the time of this report, the students are still on the march #no to inconsiderate price hiking # we want substantial reduction # EKSU says no.
