The Vice-Chancellor of University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), Prof. Michael U. Adikwu, following the suspension of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) strike in the university, has directed the re-opening of the school and approved the updated academic calendar for the conclusion of the 2012/2013 academic session.
The detailed academic calender is as follows;

- Sunday 20th July, 2014: Re-opening of Students Hostels.
- Monday 21st July, 2014: Conclusion of 2nd Semester lectures (2-weeks) for SIWES Faculties and Departments and 3-weeks for all other Faculties and Departments.
- Monday 4th August, 2014: 2nd semester examination for the SIWES levels (1-week) starts.
