Worst Rappers In Nigeria by LtCZAR: 9:17pm On Jul 19, 2014
This list explains the reason why Nigerian hip hop has refused to grow and further expose so called rappers with weak lyrics in the name of going commercial, but can’t deliver even when on a cypher. It doesn’t matter if you agree with this compilation or not because so called Nigerian rap heads aren’t those who listen to rap but those who follow the crowd and support the following rappers in the destruction of the hip hop culture and it’s essence. Rap is a reflection of life and not about who has the most shallow punch lines.

15. Rugged man
He practically hates rap music and what it stands for; he has lyrics that could earn him a bullet if he spat them in a place like Queens, Brooklyn or Compton. Why are these places brought up? this is because rap originated from this places and we have decided to ruin their culture. For instance, if Americans are doing anything African related, their full support and allegiance are put into it and they respect it but here Nigerians always want to have their way and spoil things they don’t understand, if you aren’t going to do it right, why do it at all? Now I’m not saying we shouldn’t blend rap music with our culture but that is no reason to spit whack lyrics. Take Illbliss or Da’grin for instance (God rest his soul) Da’grin had the ability to blend our culture with the essence of hip hop, he was a great story teller and lyricist and was never after giving punch lines but passing a message across and Illbliss even while rapping in pidgin still delivers so if rugged man believes so much in vernacular why is he still lame? After being defeated by mode9 who he compares himself with, his belief of rapping in pure english not selling was countered when Saucekid and M.I emerged.
He then released a single which he featured M.I and Tuface and tried to rap in pure english but turned out to be a VERY lame rapper. Below are some bars from rugged man from his single “Because of you”

“Step on the stage and he rocks like zuma”
Now this is just for amateurs, how does this even make sense?
Definitely a forced punch line or an attempt to be a Wayne
“Feeding you tracks like morsels”
do morsels feed tracks??
“On track like a train”
Baba go and train yourself, you’re too old for lines like that

14. Vector
Now this guy used to be one of my favourites but later fell off to become one of the weakest lyricists, and has joined his brothers to hide behind Yoruba lyrics. When vector runs out of lyrics he either forces out punch lines or speaks Yoruba e.g.
“Osha mo ooun dun” he says this like 4 times to dodge his bar time
Or you hear punch lines like
“Now I’m alone like bank money” this is just funny how can a human being be a loan? Or bank money is never alone you have bankers who handle them or if bank money was left alone will armed robbers worry themselves? My advice, you either sit up or stand down and you’re nothing like Jay Z please don’t be fooled by your voice.

13. Ice prince
Now I respect this man as an individual not as a rapper. You were becoming good lyrically at a point despite the fact you messed up on that cypher but why I respect you as an individual is because you seem like a smart guy that takes advice.
1.) Ice prince we are tired of your same aboki flow and shallow bars
2.) Do not try using metaphors if you can’t construct them properly
Ice prince won’t have been on this list if he didn’t force out irrelevant punch lines, I was actually enjoying “some more” by ice prince till I heard “I really hope we last long ANACONDA” that was weak and uncalled for anybody can come up with that.

12. Carti Air
He faded of the scene when everybody refused to accept his mimicked Lil Wayne voice and regard him as the Nigerian Lil Wayne. For God’s sake? Why will any one want to be regarded as Lil Wayne? he’s totally whack. This guy clearly has no idea what rap is,you should just fade into thin air, nobody is interested in you or your 200naira plastic shades.

11. Jesse Jagz
Woah! Slow down there, don’t bite me yet okay. Many people won’t agree with this but it’s accepted till I make you see reason. Now do you ever ask yourself if Jesse Jagz would have been regarded as one of the best if he wasn’t related to M.I? No doubt he makes good music contrary to the very skilled rappers in Nigeria who believe real hip hop must have a lame beat, sound old school or be boring but forgetting the fact hip hop is an evolution. Jesse Jagz had very good songs until the Bob Marley in him came out oh! Rasta! Rasta!.Negro please reggae is a very sweet genre of music and it is for the soul not for those who want to “murrrda dame” that is the worst song in Nigeria right now..it is boring, pointless, lyrically weak and an epitome of confusion..who are you? Are you a rapper or a rasta? A Nas or a Marley?
“I carry my fans, no taxi”
What is that how does murda dem have to do with taxi?
“Always on top like a vest”
You seriously need fashion advice, I noticed the dreadful locks you soaked in wet paint.
“Dangerous..Third mainland bridge”
I’ve been on third mainland bridge over a hundred times and see no reason why it should be compared with a girl, I mean they’re still working on it” and that’s just as shallow as saying “Dangerous…warri market” or “Dangerous…abacha time”

10. Naeto C
Naeto C is a very great musician for the club that is, but couldn’t rap to save his own life. His best verse was on “kini big deal” but has been repeatedly been murdered and shown his worthlessness in the rap game from getting ridiculously murked by M.I and Da’grin on 1,2,3 to his irrelevance on the bet cypher. Below are bars from Naeto c’s cypher
“Super C attitude still stink that’s why they say I’m getting gas like a fuel tank”
I still don’t understand what he means by gas if he needs to visit the gents or is that a term for money or hype? If it is, it still doesn’t relate to a fuel tank. A fuel tank is stationary so please think before you make a fool out of yourself.
“I’m just making more bread than a bread baker”
The other time “it was all white caftans like the stripes on a tomtom”
you seriously need to develop yourself or quit rap it doesn’t need you. Naeto c is practically the African version of Pitbull.

9. Seriki
I definitely expect yoruba rappers to learn a lot from the late Da’grin but some stubborn goats will always eat paper instead of grass. Serikis’ lyrics are totally pointless and he just switches to yoruba when he runs out of lyrics like olamide and vector. Most Nigerians are under the impression if you can rap in english, you can as well do so in yoruba I strongly disagree. Most Nigerian rappers know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about rap they just think it’s about combining words without a theme and forcing out rhymes and lame wordplay. A yoruba rapper that can’t earn the interest of the streets is definitely a pointless one, especially when this guy gives us info about himself that we barely care about.
“Adigun na him be my sponsorER, and I’m not just a rapper I’m more than a conquerER”
Please what is sponsorer? What is conquerer? Now this is what happens when you accidently expose yourself, you can barely rap in english nor yoruba so you force words to rhyme with a yoruba accent. Isn’t that shallow enough?
“Ta lo murmur, ta lo mo?”
This is just lazy and also forced wordplay any indigenous rapper can come up with. E.g “Omolomo ko si mo”

8. Phyno
If Phyno has a good run in nigeria so should Vic.O cause they have a lot of similarities. This guy would never make it in the rap game as long as his lyrics can’t meet up, he’s definitely going to fail. Phyno is not an emcee but a clueless deceiver who can’t stop speaking Igbo because without it he’s trash. Below are some Phyno lyrics interpreted in english

“Okereke okereke..My guys no abaleke….N’ekperem ekpere sika m fepu ka chekeleke si mu kuwa kelekara na ezem kekelebe ebughim otu mana m ga n’egbu ha ebelebe”
This means
“Something wey don enter don enter but if e nor gree enter make you rub vaseline”
Here Phyno talks about sex and I wonder what this has to do with rap or being the “man of the year” because this line is from the track, “man of the year”

“I’m getting cards no foul play; see them they beat about the bush FOWL play”
This guy is definitely an illiterate.
What does rap have to do with poultry?

7. Olamide
Olamide lacks content and I get pained when people compare him to the late Da’grin. The late Da’grin had both lyrics and theme which Olamide lacks take a song like “Durosoke” for instance, I’m yet to get the moral lesson to that. Olamide started well considering a song like “eni duro” but later fell off and will definitely lose his buzz when people get tired of his crap in the name of music. Olamide is an overhyped rap illiterate and I really hope he sits up because his style is extremely whack and he has bars that can give him into poverty in the next few years. Below are some olamide bars
“Ball like it’s world cup and I’m gonna shine, other rappers be like
Naija den no dey reach final”

Note: rap is not a talent, it’s a gift and a spirit only good rappers will understand what I’m talking about, since rap is a spirit a rapper is always accurate take Jay Z for instance “on to the next one” he said “and haters gon be mad at my next deal” he was talking about his last album MGHC which was off a deal with samsung, apparently got a lot of criticism even by fellow rappers like Earl Sweatshirt but did Jay Z know anythingA bout the samsung deal? No he did not..now back to Olamide. Mr Olamide stop rapping with such a corny voice and saying stuff you’re not sure of after you said we won’t reach final, we won the AFCON just to prove how weak you are metaphorically

“We dey kill every show like say we dey with a gun”
This is a very shallow line any toddler can come up with this.

“Na tiger battery den dey use to turn their swag on”
This just shows you should be nonexistent in the game, you can’t rap to save yourself . I don’t see how tiger battery can turn swag on.

6. Reminisce
This guy isn’t a rapper, he’s a confused blonde look at how much trash he puts out and still tries to convince us he’s lyrical. From songs like “kako bi chicken” which was a great tune at the same time which is totally stupid and meaningless to songs like “Ni’ Gboro” there’s absolutely no reason Reminisce should rap or even have fans if Nigerians are really so called “rap heads”
Here are some bars from reminisce

“Mo fally pupa”. This guy is far from being intellectual. I advice upcoming Nigerian rappers to sit up and stop being lazy, that’s their problem, Nigerian rappers don’t want to develop themselves. There is a huge gap between them and modenine.

5. Phenom
Knight house general Phenom is generally retarded, this guy behaves like rap is some joke he can just spit any punch line and it will be accepted, I can’t really blame him for being trash, the fans are copping it. Phenom is very whack and pointless, that’s why a singer (Wizkid) murdered him on his own remix “murder dem” how did Wizkid murder him? He practically made more sense than Phenom and flowed better while Phenom was struggling to give punch lines. Below are some Phenom punch lines that were totally forced

“This rappers got no delivery like blackberry on sos”
Now this is just stupid, he can as well say these rappers got no delivery like they got aborted. Why will someone say that? Comparing rap delivery to sos? What explanation will he have for that? This is a forced punch line and Phenom if you can’t go lyrical for a day please quit rap and go back to school.

“I’m spitting on bars like pregnant chicks in detention”
“I’m feeling like sango, I dey spit fire from mowe to sango, everywhere the boy go, they be telling me Phenom we feeling your song oh”
“Live your face with a scar….Al pacino”
“Like mary kay, I dey make my cream”
“I don hammer like thor but I keep it on a low key”
This are the kind of bars that make me wonder IS RAP BY FORCE put Phenom on a hardcore beat he’ll make a fool out of himself like he did on 6 foot 7foot and if you think Phenom is cool, you definitely have a low rap iQ.

4. Mo’cheddah
Whether you accept it or not, Mo’cheddah is a rapper and her wish is to be regarded as an emcee. Mo’cheddah please you should stick to singing and stop all that squeaking it’s hurts when you rap. Take how Mo’cheddah was ridiculously murked on suspects hit single “I no send you” the femcee version, her part wasn’t necessary but since Mo’cheddah knows she can’t rap she only hides behind being a singer, you can’t pull an Andre on us. God bless you.

3. Iceberg slim
After this clown’s reputation was sullied by M.I who helped him blow, I actually thought he was going to get better I mean for a guy who claims he comes from the states, fine we get that but can you rap like you came from there? Iceberg slim is a melted lyricist and a very weak one; he raps off point and is very irrelevant in this industry. Maybe you should become a phonetics teacher or better still just go back to U.S please.
“I throw my money in the air…SKYE BANK”
“We’re throwing money like paper planes”
And your hook on Tiwa Savage’s track was complete crap and amateur
Iceberg you are far from intellectual please get a new job. Thank you

2. Yung6ix
Now here is a total illiterate and a guy that doesn’t think before he raps and claims to be the king of the south when he’s yet to accomplish king of his compound. This guy is practically a joke, does not know anything about rap and should be murdered for rap murder. Yung6ix once re-tweeted a mention that said “Yung6ix over kendrick lamar” oh please you can’t even out rhyme Konga so have a seat young boy and when people say you’re lame always have it in mind it’s not everybody that’s a hater, some are telling you the truth. Below is a further expression of yung6ixs stupidity

“Niggas say their the shit but I don’t see them in the restroom”
Oh this is a very disappointing line and a poor one to be exact and I don’t know what inspired that line but this gay obviously takes dumps a lot

“Rappers say they got class, it is them that I’m schooling ,the way a nigga drops shit, you’ll think that I’m stooling”
This guy is a fool, a complete retard. What does this illiterate mean by the way I’m dropping shit, you think I’m stooling? This guy is disgusting and labels that sign him should also be blamed for the destruction of hip hop

Other bars from yung6ix are
“I still shine in the dark, so all they do is luke like the chapter after mark”
“Lasgidi traffic, I told her hold up”
“If you aint the customs, why should you boader me?”
Oh really and this gets airplay for real?? This dude is just a complete joke.

1. Lynxx
Lynxx itunu! Now this guy is just a fine boy with an empty skull. He can neither sing nor rap. Once Lynxx gave an excuse of rapping silly just to get commercial but that’s just stupid. Lynxx couldn’t body a verse if he wanted to and his bars are the lamest from any Nigerian rapper. Lynxx is the whack rapper gold medalist, he’s a curse to hip hop. Below are some of what he calls “bars”

“I dey nigga(Adenuga) like I own glo”
His name is Adenuga please and not Adenigga get that into your thick skull
“You fit play monkey post with monkey?”
Now I don’t know what this means but this guy is definitely a bestiality fan

“My jollof music no be rice and stew”
Why does this guy even attempt? why does Lynxx still rap?
This guy has no hope in the industry he needs to be murked or he’ll destroy rap

“So fe moin moin ati rice e?”
Okay ladies if a guy tried to woo you with such a line what will be your reaction?

This list wasn’t made to ruin anybody but point out the truth and a lot of time and dedication was put into compiling it.

As a matter of fact all of these artistes are successful in one way or other which is a good thing, but as far as hip hop is concerned they are not rappers just bunch of entertainers, so annoying the kind of music Nigerians even listen to and enjoy, all noisy crap all in the name of part track. I hereby beg Nigerian rappers to please sit up and let the people have a real feel of hip hop and to those talented ones claiming underground, if you really love hip hop you’ll come out of the ground and make the people feel you, the so called rappers you emulate did this for their country that’s why you’re privileged to even listen to them.
Notjustok.com is not just okay at all with their dumb list
Being a good rapper doesn’t mean you must rap on lame old school beats. Please don’t stop hip hop from growing let’s all make a change.

Thank you!

I was actually taking dis OP serious until I saw some names on ur list and read ur translation of phyno's line from Man of the Year then I realized how clueless and u are about their lyrics and began to realise how ur hate for naija artiste's has made u paranoid. Even though I agree with u on some rappers like Lynxx(simply untalented as a musician), Youngsix (fake accent, American wannabee) same goes for Cartier or wateva his name is.. But as for Jesse Jagz, Olamide, Phyno, Vector, Phenom and though ice Prince has overflogged his "aboki" styled flow.... In M. I 's voice "I gat one question for u....... HAVE U EATEN TODAY

OP you tried but here are some corrections

1. Seriki should be No 1 and he should face a firing squad for his misdeeds, then Lynxx No 2
2. I agree with most of the guys on your list, but Yung, and Jago shouldn't be on that list, it shows you don't know what punchlines are meant for, like someone said punch lines are meant to have double meanings and be witty as well.
3. You focused on their mistakes, but not on their dope lines.

Other than these. You are on point.

Getting ur rhythm tight, words correct, punch line on-point, and ur msg logical might help u pass a music exam, but it will never win u Glo 9ja sings or Nigeria's got talent, let alone make a HIT (which some of these artists have done)

i find it funny when people expect too much from mainstream artists, its not easy to stay relevant in tje music industry, you list encapsulates all the relevant artists in our industry.

these guys are more of musicians that rappers. id rather be a vector than be a mode nine or freestyle of tribes men.

if it aint broke dont fix it, we sing this way we dominate Africa's rap and music industry, lets appreciate them.

Re: Worst Rappers In Nigeria by Nobody: 11:15am On Jul 28, 2014
OP, I'll give you an 'A' for your effort of compiling this long list, you were right with artists like: Lynxxx, Seriki, Iceberg, Mo'chedda, Reminisce, these guys are not rappers, but for Naeto C, Rugged man, Ice prince, the game is just wearing off in them, for V.E.C, Phyno, Olamide, Phenom, Yung six, these guys are the game, it's just that their lines are becoming cheesy daily, 'cause it seems like we are listening to the same wordplay. As for Jago, he just find his 'CHI' in raggae kind of hip hop, this is who he really is not the 'jag of all trades' we once knew, like Terry g finding his 'CHI' in madness. As for Carti? I don't know him.

I wonder why Eedris, 2shortz, Muna, did not make the list.
