You don't understand. MOU's a tactics the govt has been using time and again to deceive striking workers, not only

doctors, to call off industrial actions but you can't hold the govt. to stay true to it's word based on a signed MOU.

How many times have MOUs been signed, strikes called off and then no implementation? Go and ask ASUU about

MOUs, they wil tell you more.

hugafella: I strongly condemn the actions of the doctors. They go on strike these days far more than is good for comfort, without minding the human cost or loss of lives involved. These doctors are so heartless because they are already very highly paid. Our doctors have already become glorified mercenaries who just want the money at all costs. who else is as highly paid as they are? The doctors strikes every now and then has lost every sense of decency, morality, and public support and now borders on the ridiculous . Only in lawless Nigeria will doctors take laws into their own hands. We need to sack all of them and bring in foreigners if they continue to hold the country to ransom. After all, lawyers are far less paid but have never embarrassed themselves in this manner. Are lawyers not also professionals? Our Nigerian doctors should travel out and learn to stop over hyping themselves. Even ASUU is becoming envious of NMA striking pattern.
. U are definitely very remote from the struggle by doctors rather u are so shallow minded. The Government is just about 2 destroy the fabric of the health sector because of the personal interests of some groups .so what should doctors do? Siddon look? Besides you don't seem 2 have solution 2 this imbroglio. If the governmeny sacks them, what next? The last time lagos state government sacked all its doctor, what happened? Mtchewwwww

Goodluck does not know the type of ministers to be sacked. Nigerians are dying i the hospitals yet, doctors are on strike, which kind of rulers do we have in this country? Anyway, God bless Nigeria.

Caleboha: stop displaying your ignorance. lawyers are presently on strike. its just that no one is making noise about it.

Lawyers are not on strike! Judicial workers are on strike. They are not the same! Most lawyers work in the private sector and if they go on strike, na hunger things be that ooo.

sogodihno: NMA STRIKE: Minister of Health Warns Doctors not to Test Government Might and Patience
Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu has warned members of the National Medical Association not to test the patience and might of government. He said this during an interview lamenting the insistence of the NMA to continue with its strike after progressive Memorandum of understanings have been signed to meet thier demandsHe advised the NMA to call off its strike in the interest of the public noting that an M.O.U was signed with the NMA after their meeting on the 25th which he said they have reneged on, Government als o met them for 10hours after which another M.O.U was signed. Hear him "government is showing its patience, if the NMA keeps pushing government to the wall, the government would bounce back.

Nobody is secretly doing anything private hospitals have been in existence before the strike and will continue to exist. U don't expect a pp to shut down. Govt doesn't pay anyone there.

While the loss of life is sad, particularly in the private setting many drs have faced patients who following treatment and are better refuse to settle the bills accumulated. How do you expect The hospital to function. Its not a charity organization.

Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu should learn from Dr. Emmanuel Nsan, a former Minister of Health who sacked doctors following an NMA strike in 1984. He lost political & professional relevance.

Caleboha: Doctors are insignificant yet you rant about the loss of lives during their strike. Does dat make sense? Why should any life be lost when we have able bodied competent and ever significant nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists and cleaners runing the hospitals? As far you are concerned this doctors strike shouldnt change anything. Stop displaying your inferiority complex

Doctors' rant is always centred on themselves. They want to be seen and heard for their stereotyped and routine medical practice that is void of innovation. My brother don't be arrogant about it, patients die on daily bases and not even doctor's presence can salvage the situation.
Re: Minister Of Health Warns Doctors by allycat: 11:12pm On Jul 21, 2014
If as you say doctors presence doesn't do anything, sack all of them after all you don't need them. grin

[quote author=soludo93]medical doctors are generally greedy. Most Nigeria doctors with their insignificant contributions to world health, always agitate for more money. contrary, that exposes the Hippocratic oath they sworn to save life.[/quote

they are just a bunch of clueless assholes
