Kegel exercise helps to strengthen the pelvic muscle which controls the flow of urine and hold the pelvic organ in place.
weakness in pelvic floor can cause bladder control problems or sagging of some pelvic organ. this exercise is often prescribed for ;

- stress incontinence in both men and women
- urge incontinence in men,a need to urinate that is so strong that you cant reach the toilet in time.
- pelvic floor weakness due to child birth. if you are pregnant,start doing kegel exercise and continue after having your baby.

HOW TO DO KEGEL EXERCISE.

It is easy to do and can be done anywhere without anyone knowing.

1. first while sitting or lying down,try contracting the muscles you will use to stop urinating. you should feel your pelvic muscle squeezing your urethra and anus. if your stomach or buttocks muscle tightens,you are not exercising the right muscle.

2. after you've gotten that,squeeze the pelvic muscle for 3secs while urinating(stop d urine) then relax for 3secs.

3. repeat the exercise 10-15times each session. try doing this atleast 3times daily.

they are most effective when done regularly.
