Osadebe is the greatest and best of them all!

The wisdom and truth in his music is unparalleled. Oliver should have just let him be! I started playing and listening to other genres of music due to plenty complaints from 'young minds'.

Except in the kick off phase of his career, Osadebe never just sang for singing sake.

Nice meeting you here bro! Am actually from Ebonyi state. The thing is that once you're a musician, you need to be versatile with as many songs as possible. Ije love from smart williams is also another popular one!

I started a music blog http://Igbosongs.com for Igbo music, wanted to make it mostly high life, but stopped uploading songs to it (unforseen circumstances). Thanks for this thread , at least the beginning part.

Maybe I'll revive the bongo in that site.

peace

Lucasbalo: Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey Late Ayinde Barrister rocks.

The topic stated clearly "highlife", and NOT Fuji music (i.e. Ayinde Barrister) or Juju music as dished out by Sunny Ade & Ebenezer Obey. angry

Don't you kids know the difference Haba!! shocked

Onyiibazz:

It's unarguable that you must have a problem of comprehension or that you dont understand simple english or that you're still a teenager who wasn't born in the era of highlife, otherwise you wouldn't even think of naming flavour, anyways i would still advice you to google what highlife in the original sense of it meant so that you stop classifying evry song that has a touch of local beats and percussions as hi-life!

Bros, take am easy with the young guy! Afterall, Flavour did a remix of Rex Lawson's songs that earned him international acclaim. And Jimmy Rex Lawson was a fine highlife musician! grin
