The phone is not "cheap", though the cost of a product is relative to how fat or lean your bank account is.

China phone, especially their high end products like these, are not as substandard as the low end phones which are found everywhere.

So their problem is not the country where the phone is manufactured but just a defect that can be found in any product regardless of the make or the country where it is manufactured.

Someone that has gotten the xiaomi redmi note 2 or the umi iron should give a first hand review for the benefit of others. It could point more light on what to expect in the phone.
