Not sure that combo works.

I think its mostly yorubas who are comfortable with igbo/yoruba combos for marriage. At least to a somewhat greater extent than other tribes, not that some folks would still not kick against it, but such people would kick against everything regardless.

Yorubas marry from anywhere anyway.

You don't have to be sure. This one worked.

U guys are really trying, I can read what you typed but I have never written or read in etsako before now. U text etsako, that is something I would never accomplish. Was born in Lagos, so even my cousins laugh at the way we speak, talk more of write. My husband is worse, he lost his parents at a very young age, when he speaks, its like murdering the language. Agenebode is after fugar, the water side/ river niger people.

I think it's partly from taking Edo in school when I lived in Nigeria and also because I actually understand the language for the most part. Just don't start talking fast or anything LOL
I remember taking a road trip with my dad and I think we were going to see St John's college which I believe is in Fugar and my dad showing us the River Niger far far away in the Horizon. Honestly I still find it confusing how we could see reflections of the river and also I was confused as heck back then because the River Niger I knew was in Asaba crossing over to Onitsha when we went to my mother's side of the family. I don't know much about my people who live around the water but I would really love to go there and see. My mom says you cannot access some of those villages with a car. You have to go on a boat. I just think that's cool as hell. I could buy my own darned Island right there in my own LGA and make myself queen LOL

My question though,if we have such inter-tribal mix of marriage, why do we allow tribal bigots to divide us,especially on NL? cool

Yes, it did. You don't know me or my family, so don't generalise every unique case.

There are a whole lot of IBO/HAUSA couples, especially the Ibo women that were forced into marriage by HAUSA solgdiers during the civil war.

well it makes sense, the women had no choice

I want to believe your mum is a Christian. It's really hard to see southerners marrying Hausas except in few cases where they're Chritians. But hausa men marrying Igbos or other southerners is more commonplace and the southerner becomes Hausa and Muslim upon marriage.
