His leadership ones appeared rock solid but, the Arab's uprising or spring left him with a lengthily trial conducted from a Court room cage. Hosni Mubarak came to power in 1981 taking over power after the then President was assassinated. Mubarak acted as an economic reformer, privatizing industry and encouraging Tourism but the end results shows benefits favoring only those close to him while millions of citizens only benefited on the low. Mubarak made enemies throughout his time as President surviving six assassination attempt and armed groups repeatedly targeted the Tourism industry he build. This and many more made Egyptians angry and they protested against him in their thousands calling for his resignation, after 18 days of protest, more than 850 protesters got killed while thousands were injured and then, finally on the 11th of February 2011 his Vice-President Omar Suleiman announced that he (Mubarak) had resigned. Egyptians in their millions were happy but Mubarak and his two sons knew no happiness, prosecutors ordered that they be placed in detention and a lengthily trial on corruption and the killings of protesters started. Over a year later, he was found guilty of failing to stop the killing of protesters and was sentenced to life imprisonment but a Court in 2013 ruled-out that sentence and started a new trail at the end of which the Court in may sentence him to 3years jail-term and his two son's to four years each.
