The other day, I was chatting with this guy I
met up online that I really liked. Dude was
cute and all and so far we had only said hi,
hello and stuff like that. We started catching
feelings and then exchanged BBM pins and
he promised to ping me later. I was excited
when the moment came. I think I even made
up a little so that I could take a selfie and
put on my DP as a current pic.

We got pinging and it was going well until
fine boy started asking what I was wearing
and if I had ever had a party before.

I know we were flirting but he didn’t have to
go that far. I immediately shut the door on
our pings and I haven’t replied him since
then.

and chats. People use them to communicate,
banter and sometimes to flirt. However, this
is not so easy with some people and I am
going to offer some tips for such people
based on my experience and what my girls

1. Don’t Get Too Sexual. Duh!!

I know you guys like to always make the first
move when it comes to sex but you gotta
chill in the initial stages. You don’t want to
scare the babe away as it was in my case. If
you guys are pinging and chatting coolly and
you drop a sex bomb, she might freak
out. This will reduce her attraction towards
you. The best way is to make your moves
when you finally meet her in person. We girls
always think that once you mention sex in
your pings, you are masturbating at the
same time. Sorry, you can’t blame us. We
have seen all sorts.

2. Humor Her

Don’t be too serious with your pings. Make
her laugh as you flirt with her. How to do
so? Tease her. Start with small doses and
see if she catches on because some of us
babes are so hard to please. The best way to
go about it if she doesn’t like you teasing, is
to tell her something about your day, what
you saw in a bus, what your lecturer did in
class. If you’re not sure of that, tell her a
family joke. Maybe about your younger one
or funny stuff your siblings do. She will
appreciate a family joke better. But don’t
insult your family or she might feel you
would do the same about her to someone
else.

3. No Long Tin

Don’t talk too much. Keep to the Twitter rule.
Make it short. One, two sentences or she
might get bored. Plus, girls like when a guy
leaves them wanting more. So, don’t bore
her; try to keep her guessing.

4. Little Is Much

Just like you keep your pings short, keep the
number of times you ping her short too. My
girlfriend had to delete a guy because he just
wouldn’t leave her alone. He pinged her all
the freaking time. Don’t do that. You can
even take a two-day break and return on the
third day. When she asks where you have
been, tell her you didn’t want to be this
weird stalker, plus you were busy with school
work and stuff. She would understand and
then you’ll watch her want you to chat
longer with you.

5. The Phone Is Not Your Wingman

I know guys who are such heartstoppers
behind their phones but when you meet them
face to face, they have no liver. The reason
why you’re flirting with your pings is for it to
lead somewhere. You don’t want the babe to
think you’re intimidated by her. Fix a date
and continue flirting in real life. The problem
with most guys is when they meet in real life,
they want to jump right into sex. smh.

6. At Least, Ping in English

There are so many instant messages
abbreviations like lol! lwkmd, rotfl, wullnp
and so on. And somehow, those of us who
know them think everyone else does. But this
has caused a lot of breaks in
communication. If you put too many
abbreviations in your pings, she might not
get what you mean. You are flirting, so your
message has to be clear. Use your
abbreviations only where and when she
would understand them better. Always use
the common ones and try not to ping like an
slowpoke.

7. Ping at the Right Time

First, ask her when it is best to ping. Also
get to know the basics about her if she’s a
student or a worker and what time is the
most convenient for her. Also know what her
daily routines are like. She might have a
boring job and it is up to you to liven up her
work hours. Classes might be boring too, so
that particular time frame might be perfect
for you. Just don’t do it very early in the
morning or too late at night. Also avoid
when she’s out with friends. You might be
ignored.

8. Don’t PING!!!

One of the most annoying things guys do is
to start a chat with a PING!!! It is that buzz
that sometimes vibrates some people’s
phones and nothing screams impersonal like
a PING!!! Don’t do that. It’s kind’a rude. You
could start by saying ‘hey…’ or ‘hey (insert
her name)’ or ‘sup girl’. No petnames or cute
names. Make it cordial.

9. You’re Not a Reporter

How can you like a girl, and you’re flirting
with her and you send her broadcasts? Are
you a reporter? No, that’s so not cool. She
will just turn you down. For everyone,
broadcasts are annoying. And if you do it to
a girl you’re fancying, you’re simply telling
her that you’re a disturber. Don’t even dare
to send broadcast message to her alone;
stick to the reason why you’re there in her
contact list.
