Hello People,

I am in a dilemma, I am about placing an order for one of the two SUV s above, but I am at a loss of the choice to make.

I drive a 1998 Infiniti QX4, It is fairly reliable and has not given me any serious issues over the 3+ years that I have owned it however I need to upgrade at this time.

I prefer the Pathfinder, but the stories I have heard on this forum about their Transmission and engine issues scares the hell out of me. I wouldn't want to deal with transmission or engine issues shortly after buying a car.

Please people, advice me on the better one to get, bearing in mind that: *I need a reliable car that wont give me issues, *I don't have a large family so i don't really care about 3rd row seating, *Cost is not a problem, * it won't be an everyday commute maybe 3 times a week within PHC and lastly note that we don't have dependable mechanics in Port Harcourt unlike Lagos.

Car experts and gurus, Lexus and Nissan enthusiasts please come in here and drop a word for me and others in my shoes.

2007 had lexus increase its displacement from 3.3l V6 230bhp, 242ft-ib to 3.5L V6 267bhp and 251ib-ft. Hence, it got renamed RX350. Though, with same shape as RX330 2004-2006. All other thing remained same as RX330.

I know a man that has been using his pathfinder for 4years+ infact he bought two of those I think accidented and was able to fix one up total during all those 4yrs + I have not even seen one mechanic near that car.

But if your choice is the lexus it is ok, infact the only reason I would have told you to pick the pathfinder over the lexus is the 3rd row seat the pahfinder has but since you don't care about that and you are not going off roading with it choose the lexus. But that doesn't really mean the pathfinder isn't reliable oo.

The pathfinder only shares part with the nissan pickup that looks like it.
But the lexus and highlander are more common than the nissan so I guess the parts of the lexus will be cheaper but the parts it doesn't share with the highlander will be more expensive.

The RX shares some parts with Highlander. RX is just starting to flood the market due to its durability (just as highlander has flooded the market). The Pathfinder is also quite common but not as Highlander due to its truck like handling (body on frame design), its size perceived fuel consumption and manufacturer's design defect in its cooling system + tranny.

You have heard it from lomomike. He uses both cars and has given you an indept analysis and review. Just go with the lexus its got swag. The 330 is ok and the 350 is a plus.

If I slap you, all you do is hype Lexus to the high heaven, 07 Pathfinder is far more rugged and suited to our bad roads than the RX350.
Pathfinder is also cheaper to maintain with parts readily available.

Are you a learner or are you high on itagutan? The Offroad I meant here could include dirt or bad roads, potholes and not necessarily real skillful offroad. Besides, how many folks use their SUVs offroad?

I have owned a Pathfinder and driven a friend's RX330 on several occassion, he was driving RX300 before upgrading to RX330.

I have had the opportunity the opportunity of driving 08 Pathfinder which I think is not much different from the 07 and I can tell you that despite the Pathfinder being a non luxury car will hold its own against the 07 RX350.
The Pathfinder is better equipped for our bad roads.
