YES, EBOLA "CURE" HAS BEEN SCIENTIFICALLY CONFIRMED IN USA.

Dr. Kent Brantly has been medically and scientifically certified CURED of Ebola virus. He was released from Emory Hospital, Atlanta-USA, today. Dr. Brantly is one of the two American doctors (also, Dr. Nancy Writebol) infected with Ebola in Liberia while leading the fight against the earliest outbreaks of the Ebola epidemic.

"UPDATE EDIT" Dr. Nancy Writebol was cleared and RELEASED on Tuesday, August 19, 2014!!

FLASHBACK:
In early August the U.S. Govt flew back from Liberia the two Americans infected with Ebola. At that time ONLY ONE DOSAGE of the experimental drug, ZMapp, was available. The male doctor (Dr. Kent Brantly) insisted that the drug be given to his female colleague (Dr. Nancy Writebol). So Dr Writebol received ZMapp while in Liberia. Because of the deadliness of Ebola and medical precautions taken, only one victim could be evacuated per trip. When it was time to bring them back from Africa, Dr. Writebol insisted that Dr. Brantly be evacuated first. Ever since they had been quarantined in a hermetically sealed isolation unit undergoing treatment.

NOW, DR. KENT BRANTLY HAS BEEN CERTIFIED "CURED" OF EBOLA!!

He has been medically cleared of the Ebola virus
He has been scientifically mapped to ascertain that he can't infect anyone
Now, at last, we can medically, scientifically and FACTUALLY confirm a cure

ZMapp is still experimental drug and in critically short supply. ZMapp may not be available for everyone in Africa for a long time. These two doctors received multiple therapies we are still analyzing how much ZMapp helped or did not help. There is no free lunch in USA. Experimental drugs are very expensive. About 45% of those infected in this current epidemic recover without being given ZMapp. So I disagree that this is the "first ebola cure". It is the first patient who was found to have recovered after being given ZMapp. But for all I know there is no proof that her recovery was A RESULT of ZMapp, which you also pointed out. Chances of recovery were about 50:50 to begin with. ZMapp has not undergone clinical trials, and ONE case is definitely not statistically relevant when evaluating the effectiveness of a drug. It will simply take time before there are sufficient data to make any useful statements about it. So I fully agree that PREVENTION is indispensable.
