Kanayo, Bimbo Manuel, Kunle Afolayan, Femi Adebayo, Demola Adedoyin, Kayode Olaiya, and Deola Sagoe.
October 1, a psychological thriller, unveils the story of Danladi Waziri (Sadiq Daba), a police officer from the North who is posted to the remote town of Akote, to investigate a series of female murder cases in the community and have the mystery solved before the Nigerian flag is raised on October 1, Nigeria’s Independence Day.

The movie has been consensually dubbed by movie echelons, pundits and critics to record outstanding box office figures when released in Nigerian cinemas, stemming from its high technical quality output. A grand premiere has been slated for Sunday September 28th, 2014 at theEko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
October 1 received production sponsorship from the Lagos state Government, Toyota, Elizade Motors and Sovereign Trust Insurance.

Kunle Afolayan is a force to reckon with in the Nigerian movie industry, his movies "the figurine" and "phone swap" can testify to that. they kept me glued to my seat from beginning to end. I've seen the trailer of this movie and it seems very interesting. I cant wait to see this movie smiley

How I wish other producers can seat down and think upstairs before rolling into film making. This guy has being unique and special in all the films he made. Stating from "Figurine" and so on""""""""""" no dough or misconception in his role making. God has already bless your hustle bro!!!! Keep it up.

I Read the synopsis. I wonder why they have to bloat the cost of production to 200million as if that's what will make the movie interesting.
Abi na Jack Baur of 24 or Sean Connery 007 dem bring to play the Police Officer from North. Even if the pay all the lead characters that featured in this movie 1m each I still can't see how the movie go absorb 200million.

There are lots of low budget movies that remain very captivating and scintillating.
I don't see a Nigerian film producer (Marketer/investor) sinking 200million in any movie to end up selling the movie 150naira per CD even if the sponsor na Dangote, the producer go just pocket the money come enter church for "Testimony Time"

This guy is a force to be reckoned with. Have never intentionally watch a nigerian film but for me to seat and watch phone swap and figurine on more than two occasions says a lot. Other nollywood guys should seat and be innovative with their storytelling and filming beyond this; Olujacob being the king and van vivker being the son who eventually fell in love with Ini edo which in turns caused the king fury. Spits on film and walk away.

Film production budget goes beyond just paying actors. Locations, equipment and other important matters gulp majority of the money.

Most of his films are of good production quality but the story line is always crap..The other one he released,"Figurine" was so hyped that one couldn't finish watching it because it was just very uninteresting..
Hope this turns out better
