Well, you can only access your files @ the cpanel .
Why not try the 'forgot password' option?

What version of Joomla? I can solve it in 5 minutes or less if i enter your control panel - any version of joomla for that matter, and i can guide you to do it if you connect to me via www.facebook.com/dhtml5

I think there are many ways you can retrieve your lost joomla password. Your web host may be able to help you with the task.

Should you want to do this yourself follow these steps; (Takes Less than 3 minutes to complete)

Wait, be careful!!! I advice that you make a database backup before you start getting practical, databases are not everyone's cup of tea. So apply caution when playing with your database! Anyway, getting nitty gritty.

1 - Login to cPanel
2 - Click the phpMyAdmin link
3 - Select your database
4 - In your selected database, look for jos_users and click it (assuming jos is your database prefix)
5 - This will load a list of users in your database
6 - Look for the name of your joomla admin and click to edit it, the default is usually admin
7 - Open a new tab and launch Google, search for MD5 Hash generator and generate MD5 Hash for a new password, copy the result
8 - Back to your phpMyAdmin, according to step 6, mouse to the password field and delete all the content in the field
9 - Enter the MD5 Hash you generated in step 7. Now click the "Go" button
10 - Refresh your browser, clear cookies and visit your joomla admin area again. Now you should be able to login

Other Option
Some people resolve this by running a simple SQL query (Takes less than a minute to complete) If this what you need let me know. Again your web host may be able to help you out.

I hope this helps.

Hello dhtml18, you will get more follows and likes if you actually solve problems here rather than ask people to like or follow or add you on facebook before you help. smiley

@op, in case you still wish to do the stuff yourself, i have helped you to generate the md5 hash for lagos - 7ae3435f147e4f255ccaaca3b2d40d5e
You can replace this in your database password like webhostingpal suggested, then login to your control panel to change it to whatever you want.

Lets hope you don't get lost - at least i have provided you with multiple options.
