Scientists say Ebola survivors can still infect others. In the case of the Dr. Brantly, hope everyone else is safe. Well America is a great country. Am sure all precautions have been taken, except if Brantly NEVER HAD EBOLA?

seems no one is concerned.

BestNaija: seems no one is concerned.
He is a cured Ebola survivor unlike those that survived with the virus in their system.

The virus was killed in the American Doctor.

The cases healed without the drug, has to do with the person's body learning to survive with the virus still in the person. So the person recovers with the virus still in the person. When the person is fully recovered, the virus slowly leaves the person. That'd is why they are still considered infectious.

In the American's doctor's case, the drug killed all the virus in his system. So he is not considered infectious. That is no virus to pass to someone.

I believe that both scenarios are doing the same thing, though via different pathways. A person that healed on their own basically produced endogenic antibodies via their immune system, while Zmapp is a mass produced exogenic antibodies (immune globulin) specific to the Ebola virus.

Zmapp buys the recipient time for their immune system to kick in.This saved time reduces or prevents any damage to the internal organs by the virus. This is the only advantage of Zmapp, because the virus usually elicits the scurvy-like reaction on the body very quickly and viciously. Before the body's immune system could mount a reaction, a lot of damage has already been done, which may result to death. So, theoretically the after effect should be the same. If one is still infectious after recovering naturally, then the Zmapp patients should be also.

This is akin to a baby born to a mother that is hepatitis B positive. You give the baby immune globulin to start fighting off the virus and also a hep B vaccine to activate the baby's immune system. The immune globulin buys the newborn time for the immune system to create antibodies.

Dont prove what you dont know. Who told you the drugs killed all the viruses? Hmm? Who?
See, its better to err in the path of caution. Humans systems are never perfect. Learn.
