Early last year, the federal government of Nigeria introduced the Mobile Number Portability(MNP), under the supervision of NCC.

MNP is a platform that allows subscribers to switch from one network to another while they retain their phone number.

Prior to this, Nigerians are in the habit of buying new sims in order to satisfy there need from the network that can provide it. As a result of this, u see a person using almost or all the network.

Personally, i think MNP is a great idea, especially since u can switch back after 90days rather than buying a new sim anytime u want to join a network.

But not all Nigerians think this way, as some people prefer to buy a new sim to porting their old line anytime they want to join a network, especially since buying a line is cheap. Thats why dual sim phones are common in the country.

Lets hear your views, which would you prefer? Porting or buying a new sim?

Really?... am a porting officer with etisalat, and i port like 80 - 90 people every month.

though i noticed people are alwais pessimistic abt it...bt d fact dat it makes ur line flexible is fun
