The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is an online phenomenon that is currently sweeping through the world; as a means for raising funds for research into Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

It involves dumping a bucket of ice cold water over one’s body, as well as donation of funds to fuel the research into the medical condition.

It is the new craze all over the world, with several celebrities rising to the challenge and creating awareness, resulting in reportedly over $50M generated in donations.
