I just received these photos from My Email who witnessed this. Photos show how workers for a top construction company here in Lagos take iron pipes to the top floor! This is insane.

Scroll down to see more photos. Construction site is on VI Churchgate street.

These guys were not taking any risks other than the usual hazards of employment and for which i am sure there is already Workmen's Compensation in place. And for the records, this project is at Adetokunbo Ademola roundabout in Victoria Island, Lagos. They are almost done with the building project and there was no recorded negative incident.

Chairman...what is bad is bad! Compensation or not....working place should be free from hazards.....or brought to bearest minimum. The fact that no case of incidence yet doesn't mean there maynot be. Surely, somthing is wrong with the companies corporate culture as far as safety is concerned

That is wrong mate,
There should be a scaffold which is erected from the ground upwards or they should be provided with a hoist or crane.

The construction company is not looking after it's staff very well.Thats very wrong practice whether there was any recorded incident or not.

Those guys could slip and fall off, those metal pipes could slip off and hurt the person below.

All these companies with dodgy practices need to give manual handling and professional practices serious thoughts in Nigeria but I fear nothing will be done till some strict regulations and enforcements come in to guide their behaviours.

you have said it all.

I wonder why some people would support this high risk action in the name of survival.

No wonder most of this construction company don't take precaution,or modalities on safety of their workers.

The action of the workers above is insane.
