Wefiak1414: angryhmm nigerian doctors are really suffering, imagin my losing all their trained doctors to foreigners. A big time mess up

resident doctors got an injuction restraining the otuoke clown and his ebola stricken minister of health.
they realized some facts
1. they would still be paying doctors even when they are still at home
2.the hospitals WERE STILL GROUNDED 1 WEEEK AFTER NMA OFFICIALLY ENDED ITS STRIKE
3.THE EBOLA IN PH has also made nonsense of the minister. it shows they didint even know that a diplomat was missing in the first place
4.NARD woudl have considered sueing for damages if this had continued. do you know how many residents whose training has been setback angry angry

the courts would have settled this ish in favour of the docs.

It was clear from the onset that this was one battle that the government was bound to lose. I think the govt was wrongly advised. I salute the maturity of the President of the Senate.

Leave that thing we know what happened, now their tails have been cut, they can never mention anything STRI not to talk of mentioning STRIKE as they now go back to work. They have now seen that apprentice is never bigger than his master. Ngerians should get ready to see the hospitals COME ALIVE. the people that REALLY MATTER are back!
Well you got it.

The government has depicted commendable magnanimity.

It is a go home and sin no more gesture to our doctors.

I hope the lessons are duly internalised.

Sunshinelady: . Shut up ur smelly mouth. Were dey fightin 4 their rights or trying to hamper other people's rights? Selfish pple, if u say u get strength go strike again
what a stupid comment so because they are doctors that is why they should not be treated very well they risk their lives to save oder people yet the government does not pay them well, in countries like US,France and UK their doctors are well taken care of and entitled to some special benefits which our government have deprived them of because of their greed and so they can see more money to loot. so fighting for your right or what you are entitled to is now selfishness?

I read somewhere that the doctors were begging. The person who posted this topic I guess is a doctor, he just wants to prove a false point. I visited a government owned hospital on Wednesday and was told that other doctors were already applying for the position of the sacked resident doctors.
Before now, I had a soft spot for doctors but now, I see them as greedy, self-centered, and selfish. I even approached a Consultant doctor who without shame told me that people who are critically ill should visit private hospitals, immmediately she said that I looked at her with so much disgust.
They are fortunate to meet a GEJ or to be in a time when democracy is accelerating in Nigeria if not, they are due for kirikiri!

yes,you sacked them yet you go dey negotiate for back.
you need to see the pressure senator mark put on NMA even on the day of the EDM. it was dicey that the federal govt made sure doctors starting getting alerts while the meeting was on.
mark played his politics well. that is what NMA expected from that vindictive minister. he couldn't deliver then got angry when mark sorted out in three days what chukwu couldn't in 6 weeks.

I thought, this time for once at least, Mr President n presidency got balls to up to those 'greedy blackmailing doctors'. . Sadly, I thought wrong! Nigeria needs men n women of uncommon gut to see through its policies and pronouncements. How would such pendulum govt command respect?

sacking residents was their TRUMP CARD but unfortunately they shot themselves in the foot.

the sacking angered many of the delegates/state chairmen.
if MARK had not intervened, residents were ready to make sure that strike continued even though Obembe and his cohorts sacrificed NARD.
the consultants association from different chapters started releasing communiques and swore they would not work without residents, a move chukwu did not envisage.
when it became evident that doctors were getting angry and the national MDCAN may pull out, they had to reverse themselves. bunchaclowns!

Fg should have allowed these doctors to stay at home for at least two months without salary ........ teach them a good lesson. Then, they won't come here and be making noise. People that were practically begging fg to reinstate them, now they are making mouth..... would NMA have suspended the strike if residents were not sacked.
Good move by Fg..... if dem born you guys well, try go another strike nw grin

I laugh @ you, FG suspended the residency programme to arm twist you people and it worked. You guys called off the strike as soon as the suspension was announced, this is the last time doctors will ever go on strike because FG holds them @ d balls. Doctors are the biggest losers, before you tell me that you achieved your aims, I know the details and the rancour that took place before the strike was called off, doctors nearly fought at the last emergency meeting with the resident doctors afraid of losing their jobs, so cry me a river.

BUT, Doctors would have still been on strike today if government didn't make that move. Face facts, Doctors are back to the hospital because of the mass sack

NMA get conscience but when the Ebola scourge was at its peak they refused, neglected and failed to get back to help out. This line of argument does not really hold water. As far as I can tell there is no indication that their demands have been met. They went back to work wen the sack of the resident doctors changed the playing field. If every sector in the country decides to demand for salary arrears for 22years and embarks on strike to enforce payment of same, the govt might as well shut down and go home.

So many naive comments littered all over the place. The strike being called off is papering over the cracks. Even Okonjo Iweala herself knows what's up if the prevalent favouritism continues, cue in to what she said. This is a classical case of winning the battle and not the war. Sponsoring every medical student in their post graduates must be the way forward or else it's not fair.

About certain doctors receiving alerts on the behest of Senator David Mark, all I can say is kudos on his new post of doubling as the finance minister **tongue out **......LOL. As if at the stroke of a finger he sends alerts, when we all know the real state of things.

I thought you guys were mini gods? I thought you guys were immortal? grin

See what your arrogance has caused! 0% public sympathy! Which sympathy sef? The public you neglected for your selfish demands? Do you know how many people died as a result of your untenable demands? They even said Ebola was not going to make them call it off, that was when I knew we had been patronizing mad men in white lab coats.

Now go to work silently and don't let me hear strike again!!

I am being magnanimous in giving you
back your job, President Jonathan tells
resident doctors. Thank you Mr
President.
Public sympathy ? what the heck is that? Is it the public that can not fight for its fundamental human rights? ...the public that cowers in the face of oppression? the public that is continually disenfranchised while still clapping for its oppressors? Why do you think the intelligent ones will wait for approval from the 'principle-less' public to fight its battles? Soon , when the need comes to go back to the barricades we shall be there because we cannot allow any confused set of people who chanced upon power to confine us into where we do not belong.

Do they know how many reasonable and capable doctors left the country since the sack...

More are still planning to Leave...

Nigerians are really hating on d wrong people.... the people we elected into power are crippling out health system and using tax payers money to accquire foreign health care for themselves.... And instead we choose to hate on doctors??

So what if they asking for more money(harzard)??
How much does a senator of FRN tak home as "inconvenience" allowance
While i agree that dia are some non-chalant egocentric and arrogant doctors. (met alot of dese)... there are also those who deserve more than Nigeria cld ever pay them... they are d unsung heroes(also met dese; quite few i might add)...

Finally, Nigeria is not broke... All things being equal, every sector can be properly catered for, its just that some select individuals have made it their God given right to squander her resources.... sadly, the thought of every Average Nigerian is how to take part in such squandering...**smh**

We can create d Nigeria we want by changing our attitude and mindset... Not by bashing any striking group be it ASUU, NMA, JOHESU... etc

PS; Chad has about d best health care system in d world.
