American comic, Joan Rivers, is gradually being brought out of coma.

Rivers suffered a heart attack during throat surgery on Thursday, 28 August and was placed in a medically-induced coma.

Media reports say the 81-year-old is gradually being brought round after spending the weekend on life support.

After the process is complete, doctors will asses the extent of the brain damage.

However, concerns have been expressed that she might possibly be left in a wheelchair or a vegetative state for the rest of her life.

Meanwhile, her family is reportedly considering suing the clinic who performed the initial throat surgery.

WoW..I didn't know she was that old-going under the knife took away 15 years from her 81 years. Wish her speedy recovery.

She's 81. She's had a good life and no man lives forever.
I hope the doctor made her sign papers so she is responsible for any negative result of the surgery. If not, he's in soup.
It just might be her time to meet her Maker and give an account of her she lived while on earth.
But who knows, God may give her 20 more years.
