The power struggle between China and the United States was thrust into daylight last week when a Chinese jet intercepted a U.S. naval patrol plane over the South China Sea. After the fact, the U.S. military said its plane had been flying routine patrols in international airspace. The Chinese military said the airspace was theirs and that the U.S. needed to stop conducting close surveillance of its territory.

China's economy is poised to surpass that of the U.S. sometime early in the next decade, and the jet intercept is just the latest signal of a geopolitical shift that has forced the U.S. to share the world stage with the East Asian superpower.

It makes sense, then, that other nations would choose sides. So who's the favorite?

We know how Americans feel about China. Only 35 percent have a favorable view. But what about the rest of the world? Using data from the Pew Research Center's Global Attitudes Project, we took a look at global opinions. The graphic below shows you the nations that clearly prefer either the U.S. or China. At the bottom and shaded black are the countries that have comparable opinions of the two countries.

This result is wrong ...Nigerians love America well well. over 2 million Nigerians played the visa lottery last year. Nigeria was the second highest in the world to play visa lottery and the highest in Africa

what is in China to like Don't you see how Chinese companies in Nigeria treat their workers like sh1t. American companies like Mobil, Chervon etc. located in Nigeria are the highest paid companies in Nigeria and they treat their workers well with lots of benifits. Besides, China is communist country with no freedom for its own citizens

These countries are labelled mixed countries where USA and China share similar percentages.


For example we see Turkey...

China 21 %

USA 19%

It means most of the citizens who underwent the poll had nothing to say about both countries.

ie. 100 - (19 + 21) = 60 % cared less about both countries. They didn't tilt to favour any of both countries..

Countries painted Red favoured China massively(just like winning by a wide margin)

Countries painted blue favoured USA massively..

The greys don't like any?

I'm not surprised Nigeria is pretty mixed because they don't trust easily so both(USA & China) will be in the same boat to them.
