The Federal Government on Wednesday reversed its decision to postpone resumption of primary and secondary schools across the nation till October 13.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, who briefed state house correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided by President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday, indicated that schools resumption date might be moved back to September.

Chukwu’s Education counterpart, Ibrahim Shekarau, had earlier on August 26 announced the October 13 resumption date as a precautionary step against the spread of Ebola virus

But at a briefing following the FEC meeting on Wednesday, Chukwu said experts’ opinion had indicated that “students could safely resume from mid-September.”

They are still playing politics. Schools were to resume mid september before the ebola induced extension. I still don't think it's safe for children to go back to school by mid september with the number of people under surveillance in PH.

it is not safe for schools to resume in September at all. i mean when i was a child if 1 kid had chicken pox,measles,cold,or even pink eye on Monday, by Friday basically the whole class would have it. not to talk of the king of communicable diseases Ebola. I personally dont like the health minister he behaves as if he has everything under control even whenn he knows he doesn't.
