Acknowledging how capital-intensive telecoms infrastructure deployment is,
the NCC boss had recently said only MTN was making profits in the market. He
said other operators were still putting more investment in infrastructure rollout
to cover more locations in the country.
...and yet they are the most stingy of all network providers.

What's the point of this regulatory body, judging by the figures Nigerians are paying over the odds for data and calls

That is eh? If one man has four (4) lines - MTN, Glo, Airtel, Etisalat and Visafone .....you can be sure that by proxy he has additional four (4) to fend for grin. In addition to this, there are also BB subscriptions to battle with and Android data bundle to buy for those other four (4) proxy lines ....Naija and yet UN go say we de live below $1 a day. grin

mrprestige: See money. Well am aint surprise on the statistics, when someone will load 200# for Chioma, 200# for Nkechi and 100# for family members grin

sirjohnson: Mehn, this is Much

Na. N 636 per line per month is poor. Shows there's not much business going on in Nigeria. Take out non profit calls and data and you're probably down to N300 per month or N10 per day. Poor. How many serious seconds do Nigerians spend on their comm. devices.

I dont see the much ado about this info... I still fink the figures are less compared to how much people spend for phonecalls in some countries like Turkey for instance... I spend about 80TL running my phone bills monthly which equals 40$ and 40$ equals five thousand Naira plus, nowh8 I am even a very prudent phone user so 40$ is on the lowside... what about chronic phone users?
meaning there are people who pay even 120$ phone bill or more? so whats the fuss?

kultimate009: Globacom with more subscribers than Etisalat Joke of the Year.... I probably have about 3 glo users in my contact list out of over 500 contacts....

The number of glo users in your contact cannot be used as a Yardstick to check their Nigerian Customer base. I particularly use glo and have lots of people who do.

I Think all these boils down to the number of years these network providers have stayed in Nigeria, Etisalat should have the lowest because they came recently as compared to the others.

If all of them started at the same time or close time frame, I don't think MTN would be the network of choice for most Nigerians.

NCC see MTN so many drop calls, and tell them to stop frauding Nigerians with their dumb loteery schemes its lies.

Imagine hw much those thieves called MTN are making from their various schemes, plus calls are still the highest in Nigeria, looking at their profit margins calls should be very cheap nw.

Okijajuju1: And how many of those calls are good quality calls?! angry

Sometimes, people spend 100 Naira on calls that should not have lasted more than 10 Seconds because they are too busy moving around searching for signal and shouting 'Ehn!! Ehn!! Can you hear me?! Is it clear?! I'm sorry I cant hear you please Call me back.. angry

grin

not only that, they ordered telecoms company to increase price of calls to at least 12naira per minute
brownlord: Those Nigeria Criminals Commision NCC should shut the fvck up, they are the once conniving with the telecoms coy to exploit Nigeria's, why won't they make trillions with their deferent method of defrauding Nigerians.

Mtn send you text message of win million, win billions, with 100 naira per SMS, you answer 100 questions and you are still answering. We would be better without this NCC people.
