I think it make sense. People should believe in themselves to create the success to glory of theirs and their children.

On the other hand, its not a big deal. Sometimes is not all about name. There are many Seun on nairaland, not only seun osewa. many of sanchez, diouf, rodrigues et al.

He is in the league of Einstein and Barbage and Maradona etc.

Why did you say shut up? Are you a stupid man without a sense of regard or courtesy?
You can go tell your father and mother to shut up.
Why are you acting insane and as if your brain is empty?. Immature duck.

If you say he is like Tiger Woods, I respect that bro trust me so why should I say shut up? Fool.

Lionel is the name Messi is the Surname! Naming a child the surname of another person wouldn't go down too well with the Messi family... They should name their kids Lionel Andres if they won't to idolize Messi..
Re: Lionel Messi's Hometown Bans Parents From Naming Their Children 'Messi' by Sleekshady(f): 7:11am On Sep 13, 2014
Why not Ronaldo, people can choose to name Lionel Andres too instead of Messi
Johnbosco77: God knows my first son's name is gonna be Christiano. insha allahu. amen.

These people should put on their thinking caps. He's not GOD or JESUS!

Or are they trying to avoid the situation whereby these kids become professional footballers someday and the commentator would be like "Wonderful skills from Messi, and he passes to another Messi, wow! That was sublime from the other Messi."

LOL. You must be wondering what I am talking about. Okay, the mostLikesI have garnered since I joined Nairaland back in 2012 is 25 Likes and that was on a post I precisely can't remember the topic but it had to do with the opposite sex, I vividly remember.
And you know what? The tsunami wiped it off and I almost felt like killing Seun Osewa for the lost of that single post out of about four hundred others. Mehn that's some hardwork you know.
Since then, it's been a struggle. I have been wondering how those who command crazy amount of likes do it. I knew they were not some supernatural human beings. They had nothing special, it was about preparation meeting opportunity and nothing more I concluded.
Some days ago, I saw a thread on Showing First Class students respect, probably on the frontpage or through the posts made by my followers and I saw my friend; FrancisTony, whose post attracted more than50 Likesand I was like wow! I added my own like and even shared the post. It was worth the likes it garnered.
In my mind, I was hoping I would beat that soon enough.
Yesterday or Two days ago, I was on Goal.com to read football news and I saw a news about banning people from naming their kids after the soccer god - Lionel Messi, Those from his hometown that is. I read it like everyother news and then I got on Nairaland, I was on the 'Family' section when I saw a post referring to that news, I gave my random thought as I felt it was frontpage worthy and went on the 'Sports' section and pasted the same comment on every post about that news.
Willy-nilly, one of them made frontpage and I couldn't believe my eyes when I got on Nairaland during the noon and saw notification ofLiked(35)and I was wondering who I cracked up.
As I post this, It has generated more than85 Likesand still counting. Here is the link;
http://www.nairaland.com /1897926/lionel-messis- hometown- bans-parents#26208685
I feel appreciated and I now understand why Nairaland and Seun Osewa should never come up with a 'dislike' button.
Jeez!
If anyone thinks I must be silly to have it written in my diary should work hard enough to command just10 Likes. It's a self-esteem thing if you don't know.
Francis, you set the benchmark and I have now toppled it.
Moral of the Story;Never Limit yourself. You are capable of achieving whatever thing you set out to achieve. And also, don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Guy! You got me cracking my ribs with laughter.... .... Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... ...
Nice Write-up. Keep it up!
