PSG, Manchester City & Arsenal are Europe's most
successful attacking passers

Paris Saint-Germain ,
Manchester City and Arsenal
make up the top three in the
Huawei Team Ranking's top
passer ratings having each
completed over 1,200 passes in the opposition's half so far.
The Ligue 1 champions - who trail Lille by just two points -
have already racked up 1,592 successful passes outside of
their own half in five games, with this weekend's 1-1 away
draw against Stade Rennais yet another example of their
dominance in opposition territory.
In the Premier League, titleholders Manchester City and
Arsenal have been the most impressive passers on hostile
ground in the opening weeks of the 2014-15 campaign.
City have so far completed 1,314 passes in the opposition's
half after four games, while Arsene Wenger's men have
accumulated 1,234 successful passes in as many matches,
making them the only three teams to have surpassed the
1,200 mark at this stage of the season.
With both teams generally having plenty of touches in the
opposition half, it was little surprise there were chances
galore in this weekend's encounter at the Emirates Stadium,
which eventually ended in a 2-2 draw.
Meanwhile, Barcelona and Olympique Lyonnais complete the top
five with 1,199 and 1,194 successful passes outside of their
own half from three and five matches, respectively.
With Bundesliga and La Liga underway just three weeks and
Serie A just two matchdays, the top 10 is dominated by
teams from Ligue 1 and Premier League.
Manchester United and Tottenham have racked up 1146 and
1,112 passes, respectively, with Lille (1,090 completed passes)
and Monaco (1,186) sitting eighth and ninth.
Finally, Jose Mourinho's Chelsea are the 10th and last
remaining team to have passed the 1,000 successful passes in
the opposition's half mark with 1,025.

Hazard set for new Chelsea contract, confirms
Mourinho
The Portuguese reveals the Blues are in talks over a new
long-term deal for the Belgian and has backed him to achieve
greatness if he commits to staying at Stamford Bridge
16 Sep 2014 12:30:00
Jose Mourinho has confirmed
that Chelsea are in talks with
Eden Hazard over a new
contract and is confident the
Belgium international will extend
his stay at Stamford Bridge.
As exclusively revealed by Goal , the Blues are ready to make
the 23-year-old attacker the best-paid player in the club's
history, having offered him a contract until 2019 worth
£200,000-a-week plus performance-related bonuses.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea's Champions League clash with
Schalke, Mourinho revealed he believes Hazard is keen to
remain in west London and has backed him to become an
genuine great should he remain at Chelsea.
“[Hazard] means a lot because he is a fantasic player and day
by day we are feeling his motivation to work hard and
improve, so we have big hopes that he will go from a top
player that he is at the moment to reach higher levels and
become one of the best," Mourinho said when asked about the
Belgian star.
"Obviously he’s a player that we want to keep, and, in spite
of him still having a long-term contract, as young as he is
it’s true that Chelsea is trying to have an agreement for a
new contract.
"It’s also true because Eden made that public even before
the World Cup, that he wants to stay and he wants to commit
for more years.
"So I think it will be a question of time, one more month, one
less month, but it will end in a new contract."
