Life at school is not always the same for each semester and session, there is always at least a change or difference in the way it has always been, you might excel in the previous semester but this semester just appear to be a pinch in the ass. Do not be disturbed, the reason is because your plans are not always correlating with one another, then sit back to reconsider your study tactics.

The foundation must not be the end.

If you fail all the way through the whole session at school does not portray that you will keep failing till the end of your period at school, but it depicts the fact that the sign of a new beginning of success is getting nearer. Is this your second or third year in the university? Once there is still few time left, you can still single out the time to make an amendment. Universities most especially in Nigeria use 5.00CGPA as the grading credit of undergraduate students. First class grade range from 4.50 to 5.00, and second class upper range from 3.50 to 4.49, any grade ,below 3.50 indicates second class lower, third class, pass and not excluding fail or should I put it as certificate of attendance, meaning that the person once attend the university . All these grades below 3.50 are not amicable to students in this epoch of redundancy and economical/political instability.

How your dreams got sidetracked

Although, your plan before you gained admission was to graduate with first class grade, but when the session begins and examination get knocking at the door, with everyone petrified to open it for the Hall boss (exam), that was when you started finding it difficult to achieve this aspiration, then you end up having a frosty merit.
I will humbly tell you that second class lower merit is not suppose to be the sky you will be claiming as your limit, because you have to keep going higher as to achieve your dreamt goal.

You have a lot remedy with you.

The remedy I will be prescribing for the aforementioned problems that query you from achieving a better CGPA will be germane not only to undergraduate students but also student who are still seeking admission into the higher institution not excluding those that are not even able to manage it to the 3.50CGPA and believing it to be the end of the Lord's grace on them. I will humbly say it that failure is not the end but it is the alert of a new beginning to those who have the ear and can perceive sound, those who have hand and can put in writing and those who have emotion and can feel, I do not need to conclude it that these category of people have a gargantuan brain to think and assimilate if they use the brain wisely.

The best inspiration to get started with a great CGPA.

Were you having 2.00 or 1.50 CGPA last session? Which you know is not amicable, then you looked down at yourself that because people do say that once you can't achieve an upper grade in your first year, you will be finding it difficult to meet up with a better CGPA in the later time, which is a big trash talk. Sit back and calculate, first of all if your CGPA was 1.50 at the first year, just calm down and see how the lord will make his contribution to your success once you get determined and focused. Get yourself inspired that you can do even far better than 1.50, and then develop the attitudes below:
1. Show total interest to your course of study
2. Pray as if the world will end tomorrow
3. Read day and night, read with all your sense organs not excluding your nose and skin so that you can smell, spot and feel your book from 10miles away.
4. Be inquisitive, ask question on whatever you don't understand ask meaningful and meaningless question, even if it will demand you being scorn or reprimanded.
5. Do not selfish, share the little you know with colleagues so that you can acquire more points from them.
6. Develop confidence in yourself, be bold, courageous and never be afraid of falling, because only those that fall will get hand to raise them up.
7. Defy proudest and silly pride that will make you think you are something even if you are yet to be it.
8. Be the jack of all books, master of knowledge by reading anything that is readable even if it is outside your field because this will build up your rate of assimilation.
9. Do the best you can, to excel and leave the rest to god.

How to build up your fallen CGPA.

After developing these attitudes, then you can go about improving your CGPA, because the rate at which you will advance will even be more than that of a propellant. Back to 1.50CGPA at the first year, after cultivating the aforementioned habits, then you are able to attain a CGPA of 3.49 in the second year, at least the wall of Rome was not built a day, if am to estimate your CGPA with just a mean value assumption, it becomes 2.49, just imagine! Can't you just see how you will get growing? In the third year, you were able to read and study very hard to attain a CGPA of 4.60! Just for that session, just believe it that it possible once you've cultivated the aforementioned habits because your CGPA will spring up to 3.19, can't you see how you will crowning? Then you decide to use your final year to amend your first year regret by surprising everyone with a GPA of 4.80, now let checkout what your graduating CGPA is after all, 3.63 (second class upper). Although second class upper is not enough, but do you now see that you can even do far more than better if not for the nemesis you laid on yourself in the first year but at the end, you're graduating with second class upper credit, which even a one and half loaf of bread that is better than none. My friend who has a great CGPA in the first year should not also give up on it and keep growing and crowning because the only day when you can give up on your CGPA is on the day of your convocation. Do not forget that in the world today, your undergraduate certificate will always speak for everywhere at anytime you want to make us of it.
