Following the US Law Makers move to prompt OEMs (phone manufacturers) to include a 'Kill Switch' by default on recently manufactured phones, the move has yielded dividends as Apple has now 'turned on the Kill Switch' functionality on the latest iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and older devices (on which it was first introduced in the iOS 7) to follow suit as a result of recently released iOS 8 update currently seeding to apple devices worldwide from yesterday, Wednesday, September 17 (from iPhone 4S and above and iPad 2 and above) . The Kill Switch feature to offer remote phone lock and data wipe in cases of theft will prevent access owners' information stored on such devices and also practically render the phone inaccessible and useless. The Kill Switch has to be activated by the User in the device system settings and can be remotely triggered in cases of theft or loss.
Other manufacturers are now to mandated to include the Kill Switch functionality by default on new generation devices from 2015 in the United States and possible in other regions of the world. http://www.softbreedtechnologies.com for more...
