field though, he was far from clean. In
2003, Oliver Kahn leaving his 21 year old
girlfriend, Verena Kerth who was
pregnant with his child resulted in a
national outrage. Oliver Kahn and Verena
Kerth were happily dating and the
German press had tagged them as
Germany’s answer to Beckham and Posh
but things went downhill and he left her.
It was reported than Kahn’s team mates
at Bayern Munich were disgusted at what
he did.

Prostitution is legal in France, but not of
the girl is under 18 years of age. It is
believed that in 2009, French footballers,
Ribery, Benzema and Govou had sex with
Zahia Deher, a call girl. The controversy
surrounding this is due to Zahia being
underage when this act allegedly took
place. Zahai turned 18 in 2010 and gave an
interview expressing how shocked she
was to know that the footballers who
treated her with ‘utter respect’ could go
to jail over having sex with her when she
was underage. Whilst this case is still
going on and no verdict has been known,
the legal representatives of the footballers
have claimed their clients never had
sexual intercourse with Zahia.

He was playing for Chelsea, earning
millions of pounds and was married to a
celebrity, The Girls Aloud singer Cheryl
Cole. But, the fairytale had to end and
when it did, it ended on a sour note.
Cheryl Cole got hold of Ashley Cole’s
phone once and saw that he was sending
naked pictures of himself to a glam
model. Cheryl and the world couldn’t
believe it at first that anyone could cheat
on someone like Cheryl. She divorced him
immediately after she got to know about

headlines due to his visit to a brothel
before another sex scandal that rocked
English football in 2010 as reports of him
bedding an escort Jennifer Thompson
when his wife was pregnant with his son
appeared. Jennifer sold her story to the
News of The World and claimed that she
and Rooney had sex several times in those
4 four months and that she charged him
1000 pounds a night. Meanwhile, Coleen
forgave Rooney and the couple now has
another son and appears to be happy.

enjoyed a cleaner career than Ryan Giggs
has. Having played over 950 games for
Manchester United and not been sent off
even once and won everything that’s
there to win, Giggs has been a model
professional on the field. Everyone
thought he was as clean off the field too
until the reports of him having 8 years
long affair with brother Rhodri Giggs’ wife
started surfacing. Natasha Giggs claimed
she slept with him several times before
the news broke out. Giggs was also
involved in an affair with former Miss
Wales Imogen Thomas.


5. RONALDO (2008)
Ronaldo
Brazilian Ronaldo was by far the most
devastating striker of the football of
modern day. But, what did Ronaldo do
that was so bad that he said “this will
stain my life forever”? Well, he dropped
off his girlfriend to her home and while
coming back picked up 3 prostitutes to

the game, Garrincha was a spectacular on

the ‘little bird.’ Outside the football pitch
though, Garrincha was a bit of a sex
addict. Playing for the club Botafogo, he
went to Sweden on tour and impregnated
a girl there. He also ran over his own
father as he was found driving under the
influence of alcohol. It didn’t stop here as
later he left his wife and children for a

3. ISRAEL NATIONAL TEAM

Israel National Team
Israel has never been a good football
team and isn’t particularly known for
their good performance on the field. But,
their 5-0 defeat to Denmark in 2000 raised
some eyebrows as the investigation
behind their heavy defeat began, shocking
things were revealed. The Israeli Football
Association revealed that players had
ordered prostitutes in the hotel rooms on
the night they should have ideally taken a
rest for the game that was on the next
day. Hotel staff found many used
condoms in their rooms and it was pretty
evident that this was the reason for the
players under performing on the field the
next day. Even though the names were
not revealed, four players were fined and
sent home after the incident.


2. TOMMY DOCHERTY (1977)

There’s no job in the world that’s bigger
than the managerial job at Manchester
United. Tommy Docherty had just won the
F.A. Cup with Manchester United and
every looked bright until he revealed that
he was having an affair with club’s
physiotherapist’s wife. She was 18 years
younger than Docherty but he claimed it
was love that swept him away. United
sacked him after the news and it also
resulted in the end of a 27 years old
marriage with his wife as she divorced
him. It is believed that they both are still
together, so the love thing may not have
been a blatant lie after all.

eventually stripped off the captaincy as
Wayne Bridge decided to retire from
