Britneys Los Angeles home in suburban Thousand Oaks reportedly cost her $8.5 million (around £5.2million) when she purchased in 2012. Built in 2010,the 8,456-square-foot mansion has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and also features an infinity pool, wine cellar, home theater and fireplace.

Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith's $42 million custom-built family home

The Hollywood power couple live with their children Jaden and Willow in a custom built 25,000sq ft house near Calabasas, which took them seven years to build. Speaking about the property in a feature in Architectural Digest back in 2011 Will said the idea behind the house’s circular floor plan was ‘to create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love’. Hidden in the hills the home, which was influenced from places around the world such as Morocco and Africa, features a meditation house, recording studio, artificial lake, tennis court and basketball pad. It is rumoured to have cost $42million or about £26million to build.

Liam Hemsworth $7 million Californian bachelor pad

The 24-year-old Hunger Games star bought the Malibu home from musician and composer Matthew Wilder. Liam lives in alone in the house which features three bedrooms, three bathrooms and officially measures in at just under 185sq m, or 1,980sq ft. The beautiful Malibu landscape can be viewed from inside the home's living space, which features entire walls of paneled windows.

Michael Jackson's stunning Las Vagas pad, complete with Medieval Chapel

It was his sprawling Neverland estate, with its theme park and exotic zoo, that made Michael Jackson's property portfolio famous. However, the singer's Las Vagas home, where he lived from 2006 to 2008, is just as lavish. The seven bedroom, 12 bath home features an 'underground art gallery' and a 7,394-square-foot 'Medieval Chapel' that seats 74 guests.
The Spanish Mediterranean-style estate, which was built in 1952, sits on 1.7 acres of ground but does not include a swimming pool. Following the singers tragic death in June 2009, the property was placed on the market for $19.5million ( £12million).

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's lavish $20million mansion

Last month the couple reportedly splashed out and bought themselves a $20 million mansion despite being in the middle of renovating another leavish property Both E! News and TMZ reports that the newly-weds decided on a stunning estate in Hidden Hills, California. The eight-bedroom spread boasts multiple pools and its own vineyard.
Located on an impressive flat three acres of land, the propriety was originally listed for $21 million and features multiple living wings - plus a pool house which is bigger than the average family home. Featuring an enormous master suit with a separate bathroom for Kim and Kanye, a stone fireplace, his and hers custom closets and a mirror dressing area, the master bedroom also has its own gym, steam room, sauna and private patio with spa.
Not that their guests miss out on all the fun, as almost 16,000sq ft home also has a theatre, games room - with suede walls - a wet bar, a library, a office, a family room and eight fireplaces in case California's mild weather gets chilly. The property also boosting a giant chefs kitchen from which both a formal dining area and a family room flow off, plus there is also a refrigerated wine storage.

Ellen and Portia's super-chic $40 million love nest

For Ellen DeGeneres, money was no object when she laid eyes on the lavish estate known in Los Angeles' Holmby Hills area as The Brody House. The 55-year-old talk show host and wife Portia de Rossi soon snapped up the mansion for a whopping $39.888 million. The 13,511sq ft mid-century dwelling was designed by famed architect A. Quincy Jones and is considered a masterpiece of modern sophistication and glamour. The massive master bedroom has a black marble bathtub in the adjoining en suite and outside the garden has fireplaces to keep guests warm. Gardens at the house extend for 2.3 acres with green lawns bordered by shady trees and appealing shrubs. The Brody House also comes equipped with a gym, an impressive Olympic-sized pool, spa and tennis court.

Brad and Angelina's five-house LA compound

It is not surprising that Hollywood's top power-couple live in a pretty impressive pad. Near Los Angeles landmark Griffith Park, the 5,338-square-foot property - which Brad purchased for $1.7 million back in 1994 - has one main five-bedroom house, as well as several smaller houses the actor has purchased to join the compound over the years he has been living there. The main house has a Japanese Zen feel to it with a giant stone patio out front and a heavily landscaped garden around it. Behind the home are what appears to be two pools with a smaller infinity spa. The couple added to the property with a huge, professional grade skate park in the back garden, complete with full size bowl. The couple only live at the mansion part-time and have other properties in Los Angeles, reportedly in Toluca Lake and Malibu, as well as a chateau in France where they recently wed.

Joan Rivers' opulent New York apartment

A dazzling gem of old-school showbusiness, it seems only right that her living room ceilings scaled 30ft-high, and velvet drapes framed the vast windows. The 5,000-square-foot penthouse is held up by gold pillars and was last listed on the market for $29.5 million (about £18million) , though it may be worth considerably more today. The comedienne, who died last month at the age of 81, once described the Upper East Side condo as 'where Marie Antoinette would have lived if she had the money'.
